Liquid Lipsticks are certainly having their moment right now, mostly thanks to the Kylie Jenner hype. Yeah, Kylie’s lip colours are certainly known for being amazing, but as a long-time liquid lipstick lover I’m just not sure they’re all they’re cracked up to be. Instead, I’m going to be sharing with you my Top 3 Liquid Lipsticks and why I rate them as Kyle dupes (or better!).
- Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks
I don’t have many items from Stila, but this is one item I could never look back from. Having tried their Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick on a whim, this Stila colour in the shade Fiery Red is my new Holy Grail liquid lipstick. It’s my go-to colour for day-to-night lips; doesn’t look out of place in the boardroom and certainly looks fab for cocktails after work. It’s staying power is fantastic (will last through food and drinks) and the colour is a deep, blue-red pillar box shade. It’s classic and fantastic!
- Maybeline Superstay 24 Hour Lip Colour
These were the first liquid lipsticks I ever tried when I was 16 and just getting into makeup. I had already tried traditional drugstore lipsticks and had problems with smudging and wear-offs, and the promise of a 24 hour stain intruiged me. Although I have moved on in many ways in my makeup taste, these are 100% still a staple. Trust me when I say the Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Lip Colour will absolutely not budge from your lips. They can be drying but their boldness of pigment and staying power really does it for me – honestly, I can put one of these on before breakfast and have to scrub at my lips at night to get it off. They last ALL DAY. Literally. All day.
- Lord and Berry Timeless Kissproof Liquid Lipstick
A new discovery in my Liquid Lipstick arsenal, the Lord and Berry Timeless Kissproof Liquid Lipsticks were instant favourites. I’ve not heard many beauty bloggers talk about these – to be fair, Lord and Berry is still a fairly small brand – so I thought I would share with you my top three rather than picking out just one shade. I have a pale, a bright red and a mid-way browny colour. I keep all three of these in my work bag as I find they work so well for any outfit. They last so well and the colour choice is brilliant, honestly, recommend giving them a go if you’re new to them, too!
So, there we have it! My Top 3 Liquid Lipsticks – it was a tough choice but from my many years of liquid lipstick experience I honestly think these are the best. Sephora’s Liquid lipstick is also definitely worth a shout out, too, as a close fourth.
If you are after trying a liquid lipstick for the first time, or simply looking for a more accessible alternative to the Kylie Jenner hype, give my choices a go and see what you think. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
