Champagne Brunch at Cote Brasserie Manchester for Mother’s Day

Brunch is always a good idea, and with Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday it’s the perfect alternative to the predictable Sunday Lunch or Afternoon Tea you might be used to treating your Momma to. Of course, brunch isn’t just restricted to special occasions and recently I’ve found myself opting for a mid-morning brunch over an evening meal or hearty lunch. So, when I was invited to Cote Brasserie Manchester to try out their Champagne Brunch, I was excited to pop along and find out exactly what a French Champagne Brunch was like in rainy Manchester!

Cote Brasserie is a French restaurant based just off Deansgate, right next to House of Fraser and just a short walk from the end of Market Street by Selfridges, meaning it’s the perfect location for a quick shopping break or meal in town. Inside, it’s decorated like your typical Parisian café; with marble tables, patterned floor tiles and handsome, smartly dressed waitors. For this occasion, we were also treated to a little posey of flowers to celebrate Mother’s Day from Manchester Florist, which were absolutely beautiful!

Now, not one to skimp on brunch, I wanted to try both the sweet and savory offerings of Cote Brasserie, Manchester. As well as being welcome with a lovely morning glass of champagne – it’s never too early for bubbles, dontcha know?! – I opted for a Pau Au Chocolat to start. I mean, when trying French breakfasts you just have to! The pastry was delicious, with just enough chocolate and went beautiful with a pot of Breakfast tea. Lovely!

For the my main brunch (second breakfast!) my guest and I both opted for a cooked breakfast. I had mine without sausages and my guest had their’s with sausage and tomato. Both were cooked to perfection and the items included (such as the finely chopped mushrooms and more smokey tasting bacon) made the breakfast feel continental. Each were also served with fresh sourdough toast and real butter, which made a lovely accompaniment! If a cooked breakfast isn’t your thing, there’s also tons of other brunch options to choose from including granola, eggs benedict, pastries and pancakes.

Over all, we had a beautiful brunch at Cote Brasserie – it felt like a little corner of Paris on a rainy Manchester morning! If you’re looking for somewhere different to treat Mum at this Mother’s Day, I would definitely recommend giving Cote Brasserie’s Champagne Brunch a try. After all, who can resist such a sparkling and delicious start to their day?
