Festive Room Tour

Hey kittens, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas day. As it’s boxing day, it’s still kinda Christmas for us (we like to think of Boxing Day as an extra Christmas day!) and so I thought I would continue my theme of yesterday and bring you a picture-heavy, easy reading post. And this time it’s personal – a look inside my boudoir…

My room is my little haven and after decorating it all my own (okay, a little help on the wallpaper-application-front from my Mum, but mostly all on my own) I feel so much pride at how perfectly it fits my personal taste. I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste – white, minimal spaces are so not me – but the classic monochrome, vintage-esque yet glamorous theme is me all over. If you don’t like it, don’t worry about it – you don’t have to sleep here.

My bedside table is actually probably about 100 years old. It was my great grandmother’s when she first had a house, and has gradually been passed down to my grandma, to my parents and now to me – not as a treasured family heirloom, but out of need. I freshened it up with a lick of white paint and used a cutting of my wallpaper underneath the glass topping on it so that it would blend into the walls. I think it works pretty well. On top of it I have a little floral bedside lamp (I like it because it looks like a candle) and these two white baroque style photo frames, with some of my favourite quotes in at the moment.

Also, just to note it would be unrealistic of me to make out as though I always have fresh flowers – unfortunately not, but these beautiful mini two-tone roses are from flower delivery company Appleyard London* and are an absolute joy to look oat every day. Mine are the Mini Eden Roses from their Valentine’s Flowers range and are honestly the most beautiful flowers I have ever had. It’s made me promise myself to treat myself a little more by buying myself a poesy every once in a while in 2015; they really do brighten your day.

This little guy is the newest edition to my bedroom. I’ve been after a centre piece for my statement wall for ages and always knew I wanted some sort of (faux – and obviously not real) animal head for above my bed. When I stumbled upon this matte white stag head from The French Bedroom company* it was love at first sight. He’s perfect and exactly what I wanted. For Christmas, I’ve also hung these little silver battery powered heart fair lights over his antlers. I think they look pretty quirky. My silver cushion shown in my bed pictures is also from the same French Bedroom company – a luxurious place to buy unusual, one of a kind decor item, I love it!

Silver is the main theme colour throughout my room – I find it just ties black and white together nicely – and so even on my door (which in the past has seen it’s fair share of pictures and decorations hooked into it, I have a nod to the colour theme. The over the door hooks add a big of bling to the door and were a bargain from a cheap shop (something like B&M’s or Quality Save), and create a home for when I am planning outfits. The hearts hanging off them are a set of three, in three diferent sizes, silver chrome and I picked these up form The Christmas Boutique* – although aside from the name, I reckon these are good to hand there all year round. The snowflake tea light candles* are also from the same online store, and add a little festive touch to the silver colour scheme.

I’m a big fan of cushions on my bed. Not only do they look super cute and add a bit of personality to the room, but they’re a dream to prop myself up on when having laptop time on my bed. The Keep Calm and Chill Out cushion is double sided from Primark, and the Pug one I haul in my Autumn Favourites video here. Behind, I have a baroque silver and black one, with a silk large silver cushion from The French Bedroom Company* poking out between them all at the back.
In the corner of my room, I have a shelving unit where I keep black boxes full of beauty products and bits and bobs in, to make the room a little tidier. On top of these, I have a TV (which doesn’t get used very often, as it’s not connect to an ariel because I never have time to watch anything) and some of my favourite trinkets that fit my room colour scheme, including an Aromotherapy Associates ‘Relax’ Candle* and my Reiss Black Oudh Scent* (the silver chrome bottle goes amazingly well with my room!), both of which smell incredible. I also have out my bodice necklace holder (vintage and glamorous), a sparkly black deer ornament and a little blinged up pot full of monochrome makeup brushes. The centre piece on here is another stag head – such a deer theme! – from The Christmas Boutique* again. And again, I keep this out all year.

One side of my bedroom is covered in this beautiful, monochrome floral wallpaper. It’s embossed and had glitter within it, which I just love – it’s bold but classic and a pattern that won’t go out of date. The other walls have this lilacy-silver colour painted over them. To tie everything together, the wall opposite the statement one has a black boroque 3 picutre photoframe on it and a black boroque mirror. These were also bargain specials! For Christmas, I also have these small silver garlands* over the top of both, they have bells on so are nice and jingly if you ever bump into them!

So kittens, I really hope you enjoyed this festive take on a room tour. It’s a pretty personal post as far as mine go, so please be kind – this room just speaks to my personal taste and I couldn’t be happier with how hard I’ve worked to get it perfect. My little blogging space.
