Hylamide Photography Foundation and Booster C25

Hylamide Photography Foundation and Booster C25

Hylamide might not be a brand you’ve heard of before (and yes, it is a beauty brand despite how scientific it looks!) but after this blog post you’re going to want to know about them. This cult new skincare and cosmetics brand is earning iconic status amongst the beauty blogger community, but for the mainstream it’s still pretty unknown. So, if this is your first intro, say hello to the Hylamide Photography Foundation and Booster C25 skincare serum.

As per my daily routine, I’m going to start with skincare first. The Hylamide Booster C25 is the vitamin C boost you need if you feel your skin is looking a little dull. Not only does it’s packaging look like a test tube, it’s ingredients are based on scientific results and contain 25% ethyl ascorbic acid and resorcinol complex to physically brighten your skin.

At £30 it’s on the pricy side for a multi-tasking serum that tackles not only dullness but uneven skintones and fine lines. I personally use this a couple of times a week, sometimes in the morning, sometimes at night, just to give my skin a little boost! So far it’s lasted me 6 months and I’m only halfway down, so at least it is good value for money.

The next step in my Hylamide routine is to apply a base, and so I like to use a little of my Hylamide Photography Foundation in shade Transparent. Now, this is not what you think of as a traditional foundation – it’s consistancy is very sheer and contains a glowing sheen. At £18 it’s pretty affordable for a cult beauty product (seriously, have a Google if you’ve never heard of it before – it’s totally rated by the beauty bloggers of the world!).

It’s designed to be worn on it’s own for a minimalist makeup look to reduce colour imbalances and improve the texture of your skin, but if you aren’t quite brave enough for that, you can totally use this as a highlighter or primer. I personally like to use it under foundation as a primer; it helps to give me glowing complexion for a radiant everyday look.

If you’ve not tried Hylamide before, I wold definitely recommend checking them out. Even if it’s just the packaging that intrigues you, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
