My Sofa Shopping Experience at Sofology White City Manchester

img_1266

Tell me, is there anything better than a good cuppa on a comfortable sofa after a long day at work? Or as you put your shoes on just before you leave for work? Or under a snuggle blanket watching a film at the weekend? Or cuddling into your partner (or pet!) with a glass of wine? Nah, I have to admit I can’t find much to beat that, and on that matter, go grab yourself a brew and settle down on your own sofa because this post is going to be a long’un as I share My Sofology Experience. Enjoy…

Introduction to Sofology

I’m pretty sure most of us have heard of Sofology – as one of the biggest (and arguable trendiest) furniture stores in the UK, it’s definitely a name I’ve been familiar with for some time. Over the past few years my family and I have been totally enamoured with Gogglebox and with Sofology as their sponsors, have looked forward to their adverts (namely for their mascot Neal!) and enjoyed their sense of humour.

Most recently however, Sofology sent me a little Spring Night In kit where I was able to introduce my beautiful pug Sonny to the real deal Neal himself. It was love at first sight! In fact, if you follow Sonny on his social media I’m sure you’ve seen multiple vines of Sonny and Neal‘s blossoming bromance; they just adore each other!

My First Home

As I am the planning of my very first home, all on my own (I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it!) I’ve been making sure I want to get things just right. Heck, it’s a big step and if I am going to create my very own Pug Palace by myself I want to make sure everything is just as perfect as it can be for Sonny and I.

Sofology Experience reviewI’m keen to decorate and furnish my house with good quality, investment pieces even if it takes some time and, most importantly, I want my house to be filled with my own personality.

That’s where Sofology came back into my life.

Choosing Sofology.

I might not be in my new home just yet, but putting these things together takes time (longer than you – or I – might expect!) and so I’m forward planning as much as possible. The first thing I knew I wanted to get sorted ready for when I moved in was my sofa.

img_1300

As Sofology put it so rightly, ‘a sofa is a huge part of your life. It’s where you relax after a long days work, feel safe and spend time with those you love’. That, and their brand identity of undeniable character and fashion forward furniture, meant that it was unquestionable that I would choose Sofology to pick the first piece of furniture in for my very first home.

Sofology at Manchester, White City

Sofology have stores all over the UK and are opening more and more this year and next, so it was super easy for me to pop along to one just around the corner from me, at White City retail park in Manchester. Just outside of town, it’s dead easy to find and with loads of places to park, so I popped along to check out the selection.

When I entered the store I was surprised at the size of it; it is absolutely huge and you are immediately hit with a wave of different colours, textures and shapes. There are a huge range of sofas there, from small love seats to corner sofas to complete three piece suits.

img_1296

From the more traditional chesterfield type sofas to the fashion forward crushed velvet sofas, I am sure there must be something for everyone… And there was definitely something for me!

img_1278

Shout out to the little Neal’s they had hanging around (sometimes literally) there, too I absolutely love him!

img_1285

If only Sonny had been there to see a whole gang of his best mates in person – he wouldn’t know what to do….

img_1291

…The bromance would be at Level 100!

img_1294

Although sofas are the real deal at Sofology (duh!) they also sell accessories to help you decorate your sofa and living room. I couldn’t help but notice this dog cushion which tempted me (if only it was a pug!) but they also sell lamps, clocks, coffee tables and soft furnishings to help complete your whole lounge look.

The Staff at Sofology

I have to give a special shout out to the staff at Sofology, who were all absolutely amazing. Welcoming, friendly, helpful and warm, they have been incredible throughout this whole process and couldn’t be more accommodating.

img_1284

Actually, it’s worth mentioning that Sofology don’t have salesmen – none of their in store staff earn commission so there is absolutely no pressure to buy. They are simply motivated by getting excellent customer service reviews; Sofologists are rewarded for great service not sales.

If you are looking for some genuine advice or do really just want to have a look around to get an idea of what type of furniture you like, totally go and in see, and they will be so happy to help with no obligation.

Choosing from the Studio and Small Spaces Collection

There were so many sofas to choose from it was such a hard decision when trying to choose my first piece of furniture. It’s such a hard decision, and sofas really are at the forefront of your home so it needs to be just right for you.

img_1269

I started off my sofa-finding journey by sitting down with a good cup of tea and a donut with the Sofology staff. Sofologists are really knowledgable about their products and recommending ones to suit your personal style.

img_1293

I will be moving into a small home, so I wanted something to suit my personality and within Sofology’s new Studio and Small Spaces collection. The collection is created especially for modern living in small homes and apartments, and each sofa has a modern and fashionable twist. They listened to my needs and recommended three top sofas for my tastes. Here are my top 3…

The Neve

Sofology’s The Neve was the first sofa I looked at when I told the Sofologists I wanted something modern yet mid-century inspired.

img_1313

This sofa comes in a range of different sizes, from a two seater, to a corner sofa to loveseat and is customisable with accessories such as armchairs and footstools.

img_1282

The colours are also customisable within the range. This colour is beautiful, very pale and pastel duck egg blue crossed with a grey. It’s totally on trend and perfect if you’re looking to lighten up your lounge. Plus, it’s mid-height back is just the shape I was looking for.

img_1314

Although the wooden feet and chesterfield style cushions are totally up my street, I have to confess I am not sure if the colour is totally fitted to my lifestyle. I do enjoy a glass of red wine which I can’t imagine would wash too well on this fabric, and muddy little Sonny paws wouldn’t go down well either.

The Condo

This next sofa is one I personally recognised from adverts and often think of as the classic Sofology sofa. hey, it might not be, but it’s immediately what I think of when I think of Sofology; a blend between a modern shape, subtle bright colour ways, a take on the traditional and total comfort. It’s The Condo.

img_1268

With a soft, almost-velet-but-not-quite fabric, it’s a beautifully padded, more than comfortable sofa with a more traditional shape than The Neve, but still with a waved back still giving it a modern edge. Although the most popular colour of The Condo is in grey with multicoloured buttons (I just love that touch!) it’s also availale in a whole range of bright colours to suit your taste.

Sofology Experience review

The Condo would easily fit within any home as it’s not only such a beautiful shape but also so customisable. This was a really tempting one for me, and it was a very hard decision…

The Dizzi

The third sofa on my Sofology hot list was The Dizzi. This beautiful Scandi inspired sofa has gorgeous curved arms and one whole cushion underneath the sofa instead of being split into two or three like others.

img_1297Again, it’s so customisable and comes in a stunning soft fabric and was definitely high on my list!

Which Sofa did I choose?

And so, which sofa did I finally go for? Well, that would be telling, and I want to leave it for a big reveal! But I’ll give you a big hint… It’s New In from the Sofology Studio and Small Spaces Collection and so will be the perfect first edition to my first home.

But, I’ll give you a hint. It has something to do with this colour…

…And these!
