Prints for Spring 2016

With Spring well on it’s way, it’s time to start looking forward to garden parties, BBQs and especially wedding season. With that in mind, I’ve put together three outfit ideas for the upcoming party season, with all items from Monsoon Occassion Wear. These dresses have been picked specifically for their bold prints. Yeah, florals are always big for spring, but I love this contemporary take on them.

Monsoon florals

Outfit 1

I absolutely love the colour of dress number 1, the Bella Olive Dress. It really is a bright olive colour – not quite mustard yellow, not quite green. The monochrome oversized bloom pattern layered over this virbrant colour is a fantastic nod to the 70’s trend. Paired with a set of chunky retro heels, keep your accessories plain with this one as the dress does all the talking!

Outfit 2

Secondly, the Lettie Tunic Dress is also a contemporary take on traditional floral print. This is almost a graphic print of oversized poppies – and with a sister named Poppy I have a soft spot in my heart for the flower! This dress is spun from pure silk and lined with a detachable cami, which I think is lovely attention to detail. We all want to be comfortably tucked into our occasion wear, right?

Outfit 3

The Delilah Stripe Dress might not feature any flowers, but vertical stripes are pretty much a big deal this season. At a flattering is midi length (highlighting the slimmest part of your legs), it is also patterned with diagonal stripes which create the illusion of a svelte figure. Well, in my case they do – you might not need the extra help, but hey, gotta take it while I can! The pastel colours and accents of metallic gold also heavily remind me of the 60’s and 70’s, and I am so all about the retro trend right now.
If you’re looking for an Occassion Wear dress for Spring, definitely give Monsoon a look in. They have tons of beautiful patterns and prints perfect for the upcoming season, and I know where I will be visiting next pay day!
