Outfit of the Day: The Vintage Kitten

Hey kitten loves!

Can you believe it’s the weekend already? Now I have my new job, time just flies! I’ve already been working there for over a month – it’s crazy but I love it so much. If I don’t get to update my blog as often during the week, it’s because I’ve been super busy, but don’t worry – I would never forget, I just have to find the time to put my little paws into action to write little blog posts like this!

This Outfit of the Day is very vintage inspired – it’s comfortable yet of course a little bit glam. Couldn’t not wear these fabulous platform heels, could I? They’re from Cloggs.co.uk and they’re very Jeffrey Campbell-esque and Lita inspired, yet about a fifth of the price! Who would pay £150 for the real deal when you could have these bad boys for thirty quid? Not me, kittens, that person is not me. £150 is just too much for me to justify spending on a pair of fashion shoes, which may go out of fashion in a year or two. These, however, are perfect alternatives and their tan colour goes SO well with all my brown toned items, which I love as an alternative to the usual black monochrome we see in winter.

However, I must admit you cannot beat a pair of black shorts – for winter, spring, summer and autumn! They go with any outfit and really are a staple item throughout all seasons. These beautiful vintage Levi’s are handpicked from The Vintage Set, my favourite vintage website at the mo’. They’ve recently launched on ASOS Marketplace and now even stock handmade jewellery as well as retro and vintage garments from across the globe. If their website isn’t enough for you, be sure to keep in touch via their Twitter or Facebook and see what they have coming up in stock on their Pintrest and Instagram.

My beautiful 1970s paisly print patterned scarf is also from The Vintage Set – not only is it so quirky and kitsch, it’s super warm too! I’ve worn it every day to work this week and had so many compliments on it. I really feel a scarf helps to complete any outfit and in this one, it really ties in all the different brown tones and creates a focal point amongst all the clashing patterns, such as these cute cat prints. As y’all know, I am the Kitten Momma so it’s only right I own as many cat print garments as humanly possible; two of which are these amazing handcrafted items. This white and brown kitten jumper is handknitted and my favourite bag of all time, this quirky and granny-esque woven cat handbag was purchased this time last year on my trip to the Christmas markets in Berlin. I am so in love with it, you don’t even know!

To finish the outfit, I added a vintage headscarf and this amazing studded collar shirt from Madam Rage. I love the way shirts look under knitwear – the way collars poke out the top is so preppy and cute and the beautiful gold stud detail on this shirt really adds that little extra into this kitsch outfit. Plus, if I get a little too warm (unlikely in December, but we’ll go with it…) I will still look fabulous even when I take this oversized jumper off.

So, what do you think, kittens? Do you like the clashing print or would you prefer a more simple look? Let me know!
