As you will probably remember, I’ve been making preparations for moving into my own home. Over the past year or so, I’ve been taking steps to get my home and one of those is starting to collect key items to make a house of home; décor I can do myself, trinkets I truly love and furnishings to fill it with. Well, as a very exciting step, I finally have my very first piece of furniture and it comes in the big, beautiful, comfortable shape of a Sofology sofa.
Choosing my Sofology sofa
Choosing my sofa from Sofology has been a long process – due to no fault of their’s! Due to multiple complications during the house buying process I have been subject to being messed around by various parties (I guess this is why they call the process stressful!) and all the while I was thinking about when I could possibly give a home to the beautiful sofa I first chose at Sofology at White City, Manchester, all those months ago…
To cast your mind back, I wrote a chunky blog piece all about my wonderful experience at Sofology Manchester when I was at the start of the process. It was truly a wonderful experience! The staff in store were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable (they felt like friends, and not salesmen, and I guess that’s due to the fact they don’t work on commission like most stores). The range of sofas was immense – seriously, mind blown – with even more options for materials, colours and accessories when you enquire about each one.
With so many on trend sofa styles and shapes it was truly difficult to choose just one to have in my home, but I can finally reveal the one I went for…
My Sofology Sofa
After much deliberation, I eventually decided to choose a Scandi style sofa in the form of the Osca Sofa in the colour Sensations Blue Mix (funnily enough, the one as featured on their site).
It is a beautiful pale blue – brighter than a baby blue, but definitely still pastel – and comes complete with beautiful statement wooden feet and on trend geometric pattern cushions.
It comes in a variety of sizes, from two seaters, to corner seats, to matching stools and arm chairs, but I decided to go for a classic three seater with enough room for some pals, Sonny the pug and I to snuggle up on with a glass of wine each.
The Ordering Process
Although you can easily buy online, I ordered my sofa whilst I was in the Sofology White City store. As I was there and I knew exactly what I wanted, I decided to try it out.
Before hand, I couldn’t have expected to know what ordering a sofa was like. It feels like a big, grown up thing to do and I thought it would be a bit of a long process. However, as I sat on my chosen sofa (cuddling a Neal the Sofology sloth) with Craig the store assistant next to me, it couldn’t have been easier. Craig simply pulled out an iPad and talked me through my size and colour choices to make doubly sure I was happy with my decision. He talked me through the best way to care for my sofa, how to clean it should I have any accidents (red wine problems) and who to contact should everything not be as expected.
Craig processed my purchase right there and then next to me and it was complete in the space of less than five minutes. I walked out a happy lady!
Sofa Delivery Day
A few weeks after ordering, it was time for my sofa delivery. This was the part I was slightly worried about; as you guys know, I work full time with long hours and so I struggle to get any time off during the week to wait in for deliveries. Thankfully, Sofology offer weekend delivery for a small added charge (so worth it) and I was able to pinpoint my delivery to an exact Saturday date that worked for me. I even got an email the day before to assign me a time slot within a couple of hours so I didn’t have to wait in all day. So easy.
On delivery day itself, I got a call and a text from the delivery team to let me know they were on their way and check I was in. They were actually running a couple of hours early and were in and finished even before their scheduled slot, which was just amazing service!
The guys, Kenny and Ben were so friendly, helpful and asked exactly where I wanted the sofa and in what position I wanted it. They asked whether I wanted they to assemble it or leave it wrapped and whether I needed any help. As my room is not yet finished (no floors!) I decided to leave it wrapped and it is packaged totally perfectly for keep it pristine, ready for use.
Over all, I’ve had an amazing experience ordering my sofa from Sofology. Sofology have been amazing from start to finish and I couldn’t recommend them enough, there’s really nothing more I could have wished for. Now, the only thing left to do is share pictures of my finished room with you when it’s complete with flooring and walls in a couple of weeks. Keep your eyes peeled ready to see…
