What to Get your Friends at Easter

With all of the news floating around at the moment, you could be forgiven for thinking that Easter isn’t just around the corner. But it is, and if you’d like to mark the occasion in the best way possible, then you’ll need to get a gift for your friends, fam or significant other – and preferably a chocolatey one!

You needn’t brave the shops, fortunately, as there’s still plenty of time to get an online order placed before the day itself arrives. Plus, you’ll want to arrange a special activity or two to mark the day, even if you’re placing yourself under quarantine when it finally arrives.

Chocolate Gifts

Is there are more traditional gift at Easter than a high-quality chocolate egg? Don’t go for the cheap stuff; get something that’ll be appreciated, and then supplement it with other, smaller gifts. Chocolate-covered truffles and marshmallows work excellently. You might, on the other hand, provide a chocolatey treat with a suitable fondue pot. If you’re shopping for a significant other, however, it’s difficult to go wrong with a box of chocolates.

Other, non-edible chocolate options are also available. There’s chocolate soap, which provides a delicious twist to bath time. Or you might go for a chocolate-inspired scented candle, or a sizeable tub of chocolate spread to see you through a lengthy lockdown.

Easter-egg hunts

Now, we know what you’re thinking; how can we possibly have an Easter-egg hunt when we’re not supposed to go anywhere near anyone else? Well, in this instance, there’s little reason to worry: even if you’re can’t hide eggs in your garden or in the house, you might like to consider a pre-planned walk as your daily exercise. In my community, a lot of the houses have not only put up rainbows in windows for the NHS, but have encouraged their kids to draw Easter eggs to help other children spot them on a type of virtual hunt during their daily exercise.

Moreover, there’s plenty of scope to hide eggs in a smaller space, if you’re creative enough, and the eggs are of the appropriate size. Put aside chocolate prizes and let people claim them in exchange for the eggs they find; you’re sure to have hours of fun.

Chocolate Cooking

Creating a chocolate cake for Easter is a great way to pass the time indoors. Just make sure that you have plenty of cocoa powder and solid chocolate for the icing, and enough miniature eggs to decorate the top. Just remember to wash your hands before getting started!

If you’re looking for a gift, then you might look at a short cookery course or a demonstration from a professional chocolatier – or perhaps a day out in a chocolate factory? That way, you’ll provide something to look forward to when the Covid-19 pandemic has come to an end!
