European Festivals in October

My latest gig: Keane performing at the Hard Rock at Piccadilly Circus last week

The weather may be getting cooler, but there’s still plenty of events to keep you warm, as well as entertained in Europe this October.

Oktoberfest is by far the most popular European festival during this time of year. Did you know that different parts of Europe host their own version of this popular event? If you’re looking to enjoy an October festival this year, below you’ll discover some of the most popular you can attend.

Oktoberfest, Majorca

While there’s no denying the original Oktoberfest in Germany is the best to visit, a quieter alternative is the one hosted in Majorca. Benefitting from cool weather and far less crowds than many other Oktoberfest events, if you’re looking for a more laid-back festival, this is the one to visit.

This year’s Oktoberfest takes place at the Megapark in S’Arenal. It’s set to feature live music, plenty of beer and delicious bratwurst sausages. The great thing about heading to this festival, is its affordability. You can rent beautiful villas in Majorca at affordable prices in October. So, why not turn it into a great week-long getaway?

Salon du Chocolat, Paris

If you’re more of a food lover than a beer drinker, the Salon du Chocolat festival in Paris is definitely not to be missed. This year marks the festival’s 25th anniversary and it’s one of the most prestigious chocolate festivals in the world.

This year, there’s set to be over 200 chocolatiers, pastry chefs and confectioners at the event. It runs from October 30th through to November 3rd. As well as getting to learn about chocolate, you’ll also discover delicious recipes and of course, take part in the tasting sessions offered. If you’re a chocolate lover, this festival certainly isn’t to be missed.

Amsterdam Music Festival

Trying to stick to a healthy diet? Ditch the food and drink festivals and enjoy some live music instead. The Amsterdam Music Festival takes place on the 19th October and it aims to celebrate some of the biggest names within the electronic music scene. It promises an immersive night that you won’t forget.

As you can see, there’s a variety of different festivals you can head to in Europe this October. No matter where you head to, the weather will be cool, the prices much more affordable than summer, and there will be much fewer crowds. So, why not do something a little different this year and enjoy a European festival?
