3 Simple Tips For Buying Clothes That Fit Well

When you’re browsing for clothes, they always look perfect on the model or the mannequin in the shop. But everybody has a different body shape and the models don’t often represent the body shape of most people – I know that’s true for me at least! That means that I often find that the clothes don’t fit me anywhere near as well and Lord knows they don’t look like they do on the models in the pictures! It’s frustrating because there is no way to know whether an item is going to fit your body shape or not, and you can easily end up wasting money on clothes that you don’t wear because they don’t fit. But there are a few simple things that you can do to get around that problem. These are the best ways to get a better fit out of your clothes.

Always Try Things On

Online shopping is great because it’s convenient and it’s usually cheaper, but the downside is that you don’t get to try things on so you’re always taking a gamble. That doesn’t really matter too much if you’re buying simple things like tops and t-shirts that you’re sure will fit you properly. But if you’re buying a dress, for example, it’s always best to get it from a shop so you can try it on before. If you do want to benefit from the online deals, you can go into a store and try it on, then go home and see if you can get it for a better price online. Shopping on the same sites that you’ve used before is a good idea as well because you can get a better sense of what the fit is like on the clothes.

Buy The Right Underwear

The underwear that you choose can have an impact on the fit of the clothes, so you should take that into consideration when you’re buying it. You can get some great women’s underwear that is designed to have a low profile so it doesn’t show through a tight fitting dress, for example. You’d be surprised how much difference the right underwear can make so always choose carefully, especially when you’re trying things on in a store.

Get Tailored Clothes

The easiest way to make sure that something fits is to get it tailored. If you buy an item and the fit isn’t quite right, that doesn’t mean you should get rid of it or stuff it in the back of the wardrobe. You can easily get it tailored so the fit is just right for you, and it won’t be that expensive. You can also get tailored clothes made especially for you, but that will be a bit more expensive so you have to be selective with it. Choose versatile items like a good blazer that you can use to create a lot of different outfits and spend a bit of money on a tailored one. There’s a lot of difference between a tailored piece and an off the shelf piece so it’s worth paying the extra for it.

Finding clothes that fit properly can be very difficult but if you follow these tips, you should be able to get a better fit out of all of your clothes.
