5 Ways to Get Summer Holiday Ready

As you guys know if you follow me on Instagram (and if you aren’t, then why not?!) I recently got back from my Summer holidays. This year I jetted off to Maderia for a week and for the first time in my life, spent the majority of it relaxing around the pool, the beach and simply sipping cocktails. It was heavenly, and whilst I usually opt for a city break where I can pop on some sensible sandles and hot foot it around a new place, I feel kinda converted to the traditional and relaxing Summer holiday now!

So, if you’re off on your holibobs this Summer Holiday season, here our my top 10 5 to get summer holiday ready

Perfect your beach body.

To do this, forget all the crap you’ve seen on Instagram about 10 day juice detoxes and a thousand situps a day and ‘no carbs before marbs’. Getting beach body ready is really quite easy. Simply take your body to a beach. Job done! You’re fabulous just the way you are.

Pack your SPF!

Now this is a social media trend I well and truly get behind. SPF is so important for protecting your skin against harmful UVA and UVB rays which not only in the worst case can lead to skin cancer, but can also contribute to fine lines, wrinkles and skin pigmentation. It’s important to wear SPF every day as part of your skincare routine but especially critical when you’re sunbathing on your holidays when the sun’s rays are stronger. Take care of yourself.

Do what you need to do to feel well groomed.

Get your holiday mani and pedi, of course, and if it helps you feel more confident, book yourself in for a wax in Manchester. Sure, if you love your body hair then feel free to rock it, but I feel most comfortable when I’m completely fuzz free and so before every holiday I ensure to get my underarms, full legs and bikini line waxed so I can strut my stuff with my highest self esteem.

Log off.

Now that you’re jetting off on your holiday, take the final step to feeling summer holiday ready by setting your Out of Office. We all love a casual Instagram scroll every now and again (well, all the bloody time) but take some time on your holiday to log off and truly let your brain relax. Instead of social media stalking, take a book and unwind by the pool that way. Every so often a self-inflicted social media ban is the perfect way to detox your desires and stop you feeling FOMO.

Enjoy yourself.

Simply do what you need to do to enjoy yourself. Pack a book. Take your favourite liptick. Have a G&T at 11am. Whatever it is that makes you feel Summer holiday ready, simply do it and cherish your time away! We only get a few days off a year and so it would be rude not to make the most of it. Have fun. Let go. Be yourself.
