When you have struggled with a particular insecurity for your entire life, it can seem as though there is no way out. It is all you see when you look in the mirror and nobody else can understand why you feel that way. The problem with our deepest insecurities is that they are only visible to ourselves. This means that we have to learn to love them or actively make a change to improve them for our own peace of mind. Whether you’re hoping for glowing summer skin or healthier hair, there are so many battles you could be facing right now. At this time of year your personal bug bears can be instantly heightened as you scroll through stunning Instagram models who look perfect on the beach. Instead of focusing on other people’s so called ‘perfection’ it is time to take control of your own emotions and face your insecurities right now!

You gaze longingly at the shampoo adverts on television and wish you could have a head full of thick, luscious locks like the male or female models on screen. Many people have insecurities about their hair, whether you’re starting to go bald or you have never had a thick mane. In truth, most people online are gifted their clothes or pay thousands for a personal stylist. This isn’t a realistic approach to life, so you can’t be mad at yourself for not having these things. Embrace yourself for who you are and love the clothes you wear. Head out shopping with your best friend and find clothes that make you feel confident. You will soon feel much better when you forget about the people that really don’t matter.

 

Personality Put Downs

It is a very sad state of affairs when you don’t like your own personality. When you are unable to love yourself for who you are, how do you expect anybody else to feel this way? No matter what your personality may be, you need to embrace the cards you have been dealt. Whether you’re irrational, over emotional, a people pleaser or shy, there are so many ways to turn these traits into a positive. Most of your friends and family will love you because of your distinct personality, so always remember this when you’re feeling down.

 

So instead of putting yourself down, why not make a change? If you carry on feeling overwhelmed and insecure about certain things, you will never be truly happy in your own skin. You need to be at ease with the beautiful body and mind you have been blessed with, instead of putting yourself down all the time. Consider some of the techniques mentioned above, but take them with a pinch of salt. Ultimately, you are perfect the way you are, but you should never stop striving to be a stronger and more confident version of yourself.
