Copper in the Kitchen

copper-in-the-kitchen

Copper sprung into the homewear hemisphere in 2016 and it ain’t going anywhere for 2017! This chic metallic tone is remaining a key trend for interior accessories throughout this next year and as I look ahead to (fingers crossed!) moving into my first own home soon, I’m already planning to accessorize my home with copper. Whilst arguably copper will go with the vibe in most rooms, there is one place I’m championing it for my new house – Copper in the Kitchen!

So, here’s my run down of the top 8 copper accessories you need in your kitchen for 2017:

  1. Rose gold cutlery – a really simple (and cheap!) way to add some copper to your home is simply by switching our your usual silver cutlery for a rose gold or copper plated edition.
  2. A copper pendant light – a pendant ceiling light is a non-permanent way to re-decorate a room and make a real statement. Litecraft have tons of copper, gold and rose gold fittings for their pendant ceiling lights which are perfect for updating your home.
  3. Rose gold cables – little details light switching out your usual cables and plug sockets will make your room look so much more put together and polished than the usual white plastic aesthetic.
  4. Copper dome light – this is one of my favourite types of a ceiling light, as the copper totally encompasses the bulb aside from a section as the bottom to let out some warm, copper coloured light onto a whole room.
  5. Succulents and cacti – these plants are easy to look after, low-maintenance and high aesthetic! Adding some greenery to a room will compliment rose gold and copper tones beautifully.
  6. Wooden furniture – adding some rustic wooden furniture to a kitchen will heighten the industrial feel that copper accessories bring. A wooden dining table or shelving are the perfect way to show this.
  7. Industrial lighting – I’ve personally grabbed the Brooklyn 3 Light Industrial Ceiling Pendant Bar in Rose Gold from Litecraft for my own home; it’s my own dream way to add Copper in the Kitchen!
  8. Wooden accessories – if wooden furniture is too out there for you, try wooden kitchen accessories and utensils which are inexpensive and easy to switch out when you’re bored. This 3 tier cake stand is the perfect example.

Hopefully this gives you a little inspiration as to how to update your home for 2017, by adding Copper in the Kitchen! If you have any other ideas or New Year home inspirations, feel free to leave me a comment below and let me know.
