Eye Care Remedies At Home

Our eyes are incredibly important, and are something we often take for granted. Our eyes allow us to see colour in the world and enjoy the little things. Now and again it is important for us to take care of them and give them the tlc they need.

Today we are going to take a look at some of the ways you can take care of your eyes at home, allowing you to use items you have around the house to hydrate your peepers and keep them healthy for longer.

Cold cloth

One simple way for you to refresh eyes that are feeling painful or irritated is to use a cold compress. All you need to do here is wet a cloth and chill it in the fridge for about 20 minutes. Place over your eyes and hold here for 5 minutes. You can use this treatment any time you feel pain or dryness in your eyes.

Cucumber

The first home remedy you can use on your eyes to hydrate them and make them feel refreshed and healthy are cucumber slices. If you want to avoid needing Persol glasses close in the future, hydrating the eyes is incredibly important, and the vitamins and minerals within the cucumber will nourish the eyes and keep them from becoming dry or irritated. Place a slice on each eye, like back, and relax for 20 minutes or so. Listen to your favourite tunes or a podcast and repeat once a week.

Tea bags

The second easy trick for keeping the eyes healthy is using wet tea bags. Similar to cucumber slices, a couple of wet tea bags can be a great way to wake up the eyes and get some much needed vitamins in there. It will feel amazing, and you can use any kind of tea bags you like.

Castor oil

Oils can be a wonderful way to hydrate the body and they are used for many different things. If you are looking for a remedy for irritated eyes due to illness or hayfever, a few drops of caster oil can be placed into the eye to sooth them. Yes, it might be difficult to place drops in your eye at first, but it is worth it when you feel refreshed and hydrated.

Aloe vera

For a solution that is great for the eyes as well as the undereyes is Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is a wonderful natural product and it can be used to cool and soothe many parts of the body such as the eyes and even for burns. If you have Aloe Vera gel in the house, use a tablespoon of this with a little bit of water. If you have Aloe Vera plants, take a leaf, slice it open and scoop out the gel into a bowl. Once you have an Aloe Vera and water mixture, take some cotton pads, and dip them into the mixture. Once soaked, place these over your eyes. Leave for 15-20 minutes and then wipe and rinse off. The Aloe Vera will nourish the eyes, it will refresh you, and will also reduce dark circles under the eyes.
