Finding a Reliable Car Dealership

I’m not gonna lie, as awful as it sounds (and I’m embarrassed to say this!) buying a new car as a woman can be pretty scary. I hate to generalise but I know from my own experience that walking into a car dealership and being pounced on by (admittedly stereotypically) salesmen can be a pretty intimidating thing, and so speaking from experience, today I’m going to be sharing with you some tips I’ve learnt that helped me buy my latest car.

Find a reliable car dealership

This is easier said then done, but make sure you try and find a car dealership that is credible and somewhere that you will feel comfortable. A credible car dealer will share full car history with you that will entail any accidents or repairs done on the car. This will give you your negotiating leverage as you’ll exactly know what you are getting and how much is it worth – and to be honest, I feel like I probably should have shopped around more. Car dealers like KAP Motor Group can help you find a used car that best fits your needs.

Create a shortlist

Both before and after visiting car dealerships when I was looking for my current car, I made sure to make shortlists that I could reference to help me keep on track. Firstly, I made shortlists of the type of features I would want in a car (engine size, functionality, even colour!) which then helped me create a shortlist of the models of car that wold suit me. Before visiting a car dealership, I then made a shortlist of the branches that would sell the models I was interested in so I knew I would be visiting the right places.

Do your research

This might sound like common sense, but it can be pretty easy to just walk into a car dealership and assume you will be told all the info you need to make a decision – but it doesn’t always work like that. When I was buying, I made sure I researched online before hand so I could walk in armed with as much information as possible to ensure I was making the right decisions.
