How to Create a Great Fashion Blog Post

As a fashion blogger, there’s always pressure to be creating inspired content every day, but sometimes it’s not that easy! Especially now, when we’re at home with nowhere to go, and locations for shoots, not to mention that we’ve been living in loungewear for six weeks, getting inspiration for new pieces can be pretty difficult!

These are my top tips for making great posts when you’re struggling as a fashion blogger! These tips also apply to best practices when you’re on a creative roll!

Words are just as important as pictures!

When it comes to fashion blogging, lots of people think that the most important thing is the images – and it’s easy to see why! Lots of fashion bloggers have beautiful photos all over their site and great photography can be a great way to establish and promote your brand online. But, visual presence isn’t everything – you need to make sure your written content is telling a story just as much as your visuals do! SEO optimisation is also vital for your written content – as even if you have the most amazing art, fashion and photography style, if you aren’t appearing in Google search engine results, no-one will get to see it! Using tools like Google’s Keyword Planner and researching what’s trending when it comes to your written content can help lift you up to the top of the search results, and increase your reach massively!

What is trending?

Obviously staying on trend is important, but so is standing out, and it can be hard to make your mark in a sea of “my favourite loungewear pieces this lockdown!”. That’s why you need to find your own twist on trending themes to help create amazing posts with a unique perspective and appeal. And yes, that can be pretty tough, especially when inspiration isn’t striking, but you need to be true to yourself and your brand, and remember why people love your personal brand in the first place!

Go outside!

Now, depending on where in the world you are, this is easier said than done! But, if you can get out and about, even just for a short walk, it can be a great way to get inspired. Seeing other people in relaxed street styles can trigger inspiration, as can walking around your local area. You might even find some great shooting locations while you’re there!
