How To Sweeten Up Your Home’s Aroma

Something I am always keen on is making sure my home smells as good as it looks! I am a big fan of all things candles, reed diffusers and incense sticks and make sure I always get one or two burnings as soon as I get home every evening.

In fact, with so many lovely scented options available now, there are so many ways you can embrace the top home decor trends to boost your home’s aesthetic (and scented!) appeal. You can create new rooms to increase the functionality of your home. And you can add those personal touches that will make your home your own.

However, despite your hard work in each of these areas, you will never fully enjoy your home if it doesn’t smell its sweetest! Any lingering smells will soon start to grate on you, and you will never get to experience complete relaxation if you don’t have those special scents that could boost your downtime. So, with this in mind, here are just some of the ways you can sweeten up your home’s aroma.

Deal with the smelly spots

It might be the damp in the bathroom that is kicking up a bit of a stick in your home. You might have a blocked drain that is creating a nasty pong. And your carpets and furnishings could be beset by lingering odours caused by damp pets, cigarettes, and spilled foods! So, use your nose and hunt down these smelly spots. Then do what is necessary to put things right, such as paying for damp treatments to fix those musty smells, calling out services such as KJC Drainage for those rotten egg aromas from down below, and replacing or cleaning your home furnishings for those other lingering smells.

Create your own mesmerising scents

Sure, you could buy something from the local store, but if you have any crafty bones in your body, you could simply buy the things you need to create your own scents. You could make an air-freshener using orange-scented oils, or custom candles that give off that beautiful lavender smell. And how about a jar of homemade potpourri using cloves, cinnamon, rosemary, and orange peel? You can find these ideas here, as well as several other suggestions for your own DIY scents, so have a read and create something for every room of your home.

Say it with flowers

Say what with flowers? Well, you can tell yourself that your home smells amazing, of course. Not only will a few handily placed jars of flowers remove any lingering toxins from your airspace, but they will fill any room with an array of beautiful scents too. From scented geraniums that can include chocolate, nutmeg, and rose-tinged scents, to Citrus plants that can enrich your home with beautiful orange and lemons aromas, check out these houseplants if you need a little bit of inspiration for your floral arrangements.

Turn on your oven

Ah, that beautiful smell of fresh-baked goods cooking in the oven. Cinnamon rolls, banana breads, chocolate cookies… these are just some of the foods that will make your home smell incredible. Not only that, of course, but they will taste good too, so if you consider yourself a bit of a goddess in the kitchen, whip up a few recipes to treat all of your senses!
