Italy: Why You Should Visit & Where You Should Go

We are in the middle of a pandemic, so much of our vacation planning is done in our heads right now. We’re browsing websites and pretending to book trips and hotels; it’s the nature of the dreamer to think about all the places that they want to go in future. If you’re looking to book somewhere after restrictions ease up that has culture, delicious food, beautiful beaches and mountains, you need to look closer at Italy.

From the moment you set foot in Italy, you will fall in love with its charms. There are so many places to see in Italy, and no matter what you are looking for you’ll find it right here. One trip to Italy won’t be enough and until you see it for yourself, you won’t believe that you’ll need to make it a place you see regularly. So, with that in mind, let’s check out some reasons you should go to Italy. Once you have that, you’ll be able to see our suggestions for where you should visit!

Reason 1: Rome Has Ruins

You want to go to see the Colosseum and you want to see it NOW. Italy would not be where they are right now without their history, and much of it starts with the Colosseum. It’s not just the Colosseum, but the Forum in Rome is another ruin to visit. There are ancient city ruins that have been preserved for many years.

Reason 2: The Cities Are Legendary

Some of the oldest continuing cities are here in Italy, and the cities are legendary for their rich heritage and their character. No matter what city you go for, there’s something to see; you feel like you’re living and breathing the centuries.

Reason 3: The Villages Are Amazing

As much as the cities are legendary, the villages tucked around them are just as beautiful. You’ll be blown away by the coastal town of San Gimignano, it’ll be worth your time on your trip.

These are just three of many reasons you should go for a trip in Italy. Why not hire a car and road trip throughout the country? You could hit every city along the way and fall in love with all the charms it has to offer. Let’s take a look at the places that should be on your road trip:

  1. Florence Cathedral is known to be the soul of the country, with tons of galleries and churches to visit and a huge array of Renaissance buildings to enjoy, too.
  2. Get yourself a Venice travel guide before you book your trip. While you’re in Venice, the canals are a must, and as the city itself is a floating one, it’s considered to be one of the most romantic places in the world.
  3. Did you know that the Amalfi Coast stretches 40km south from the Bay of Naples? You can see the colorful houses that sit against the cliffs of the Lattari mountains and really relax. The Tyrrhenian sea is right there to enjoy!
  4. Rome is the pace to be when you want to dive headfirst into the history of Italy. The architecture and the history of the empire are here to see, and you will get a kick out of the energy in Rome, too.
