Is your home or office becoming overrun with stuff? Are you trying to make room for your Winter wardrobe or sort through your most used beauty pieces in your collection? If you’re struggling to keep all your belongings at home, here are nine great reasons to use a storage facility.

  1. Moving. Moving to a new home is exciting, but if you don’t get much overlap between houses, it can be stressful. Save yourself from worrying about what to do with your furniture if you have a gap between houses, but putting your things into self storage in London temporarily.
  2. If you’re a collector, and have a large collection that’s starting to take over your house, you can store it in a storage unit. Find a unit that has good security and is well weather proofed to keep your precious items stuff. Whether you’re collecting snow globes or porcelain cats, you can keep them in a unit, out of the way.
  3. If you have a hobby that means you have to own a lot of bulky equipment, a storage unit could be a great place to keep it all. Whether you’re storing skis, a bike or golf clubs, a storage unit means you can keep things out of the way but easily accessible, without taking over your home or your garage.
  4. Renovations and building work are always messy, whether you’re having a new bathroom or building a kitchen extension. If you’re having to move furniture out of the way, move it to a storage unit. This gets it out of the way instead of pushing it into other rooms, and protects it from potential damage.
  5. If you’re downsizing to a smaller home, it can be tricky to work out what to do with extra furniture that you don’t have room for in the new place. While you’re deciding whether to repurpose, sell or donate old furniture, get it out of the way by moving it into a storage unit.
  6. Are you expecting a new baby? Bringing a baby into the family means your house can very quickly become overrun with new baby things that you don’t have anywhere to put until you’ve set up the nursery. Keep it under control by putting things like pushchairs, large toys or cots into a storage unit until you’re ready for them.
  7. Do you have a child at university who’s coming home for the summer? They’re probably bringing a lot of stuff back with them, from extra furniture they used in halls, boxes of dishes and lots of clothes If you’re wondering where on earth you’re going to put it all, consider a storage unit for the summer, until the kids go back to university.
  8. Are you going travelling for an extended trip? If you’re renting out your house, but not including the furniture, you’ll need somewhere for the furniture to go while you’re travelling. A unit to put it in is ideal.
  9. Have you had a major life change like a marriage, a divorce or a bereavement? Combining or diving households, or clearing out the home of a loved one who has passed away often means you’ll need somewhere to store things. Look for a flexible contract that will allow you to store things short term.
