Outfit of the Day: Monochrome Stripes

Trousers: MeeMee – Vest: Matalan – Shoes: F&F – Necklace: Primark

Hey kittens, how are y’all? Surviving the heat? Can you believe we’ve not had rain in Manchester for as long as I can remember – when does that ever happen?! This week it’s been nearly 30 degrees, and phew, I am struggling with what to wear.

Today’s Outfit of the Day is a might be a little warm for this weather, but it’s just too stylish not to wear. These Beetlejuice Roxy Trousers are such a statement item I couldn’t say no to them. These are my first items from MeeMee and to be honest I’m hugely impressed by them. Heck, I didn’t even realise but these pants are Motel branded. Not quite jeans, these trousers are very unusual, with the stripes feeling almost leather-y. They’re high waisted and skinny fit, although I could have perhaps done with a small size as they’re quite baggy around my calves.

As the trousers are such a huge statement, I kept the look pretty similar to my Sports Luxe look (what a mouthful, eh?) and left the rest of it fairly understated. I quite like the way it looks – bang on the monochrome trend and looking pretty slick. This black vest top  from Matalan with a racerback fit is perfectly sized for a slightly baggy, slightly slouchy look; ideal when wearing high waisted bottoms and you don’t wanna look too bodycon all over!

For accessories, I kept things simple, only adding my vintage chain necklace for jewellery. To finish, I popped on my new favourite Louboutin dupes from… Wait for it… Tesco! I know, I know, I can’t get over these patent peep toe heels either, as they are almost exact dupes of the Christian Louboutin Altadama’s which retail at £550. I love the pop of colour the sole gives – ideal for adding a slight bit of warmth (and matching my signature red lips) when the rest of the outfit is pretty black and white. Literally!

So kittens, what do you make of these Beetlejuice inspired trousers? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitterlike my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!
