Hey kittens! Another day, another event – and this one comes in the very stylish form of the STYLEetc Magazine Spring Issue Party, very appropriately named for celebrating the launch of their Spring Magazine Issue in April.

The other day I was invited to Harvey Nichols (posh, eh?) where STYLEetc hosted their party on the Second Floor Bar. Although I’m not stranger to Harvey Nics, I’d never been to the bar before so it was lovely to experience it for the first time. It was just the right size area for serving prosecco, an open bar and having a natter with some of the city’s biggest fashionistas – a pretty perfect Tuesday evening.
It was a pretty chilled evening with the light fashion gossiping only briefly being broken by a short speech from a couple of STYLEetc’s staff. MD Anna-Louise Gilhooley, who I actually first met at Harvey Nics, thanked guests for attending and the very lovely Gemma Latham, Managing Editor, celebrated the success of her first issue as Managing Editor. I also got the chance to speak to quite a few of the interns at the magazine who all spoke very fondly of the publication and told me how hands on they were, which is fab to hear considering I was in a similar sort of situation last year or so!
Copies of the Spring Issue magazine were carefully places – or arranged – on bar table tops and I enjoyed having a little glance through. Luckily, I got my own copy in my goodie bag (which also had a couple of cheeky beauty treats courtesy of Harvey Nichols, Glamorous.com and Peppersmith, thank you!) so I’ll be able to have a proper read of it later. I gotta say, the cover is stunning and I spotted Manchester Fashion Week’s own Kirsty Attwood inside the mag. Did I mention it’s cute travel size?
After a couple of drinks, I had to head off, although some of the other guests stayed at the bar ready to snack on Harvey Nichols spring Supper Club menu, which was conviniently right next door (roomwise, not building wise) in the Harvey Nichols Brasserie.
Over all, it was a fab chance to get to know a little more about STYLEetc and meet some of the staff and interns who work on the publication itself. As a local magazine, I’m more than proud to have this stylish fashion and lifestyle mag representing Manchester style! Now, no event post would be complete without a quick outfit low down of what I wore to the part-tay…
Okay, so although it’s April and we were celebrating the Spring issue, we live in Manchester and it is still pretty bloomin’ freezing, so I opted for my very favourite Biba faux fur coat. To compliment it, I took my along my Anima Red bucket bag from La Moda – literally the perfect bag for taking from day to night and fitting all my blogging essentials in. I wore my black studded bucket bag to the Risk Couture store opening and featured it already here, and I love both variations of the bucket bag! Perfect size!
For some more outfit details, I wore my floral oversized shirt which I really can’t get enough of at the mo and added some chunky statement gold-accent jewellery to coincide with the gold studs of the bag. For some reason, I can never really take to silver – I feel that gold is just so much more classic and yet also more street-style, so nearly all my accessories are gold.
To compliment the gold highlights a little more whilst also adding some sophisticated style, I wore my beautifully classic watch from Daniel Wellington. I wear a watch every day for work and I am currently rotating daily between my rose gold Christmas present watch and my Classic York Lady. This is just such a timeless (time-less, geddit?) piece which I know will last me for years and years, it’s such a lovely investment!
