Things You Need to Do in Prague

If you’re planning on heading to Prague for the first time, it’s a good idea to have a general itinerary in place before you go. With so much to see and do, it can quickly become overwhelming once you arrive.

Visit the magnificent Prague Castle

Noted by the Guinness World Records as the world’s biggest ancient castle, Prague Castle is definitely an attraction you won’t want to miss. This pretty castle is set over 45 hectares and it’s located in the Hradcany area.

The president currently resides in the castle, and over the years it’s been used by Czech rulers. You can get into the castle grounds absolutely free. However, if you want to visit the buildings within the grounds, such as the St Vitus Cathedral, it’s a good idea to invest in an entry ticket which gives you combined entry into the buildings.

 

Take a Prague beer tour

Prague has a pretty impressive beer scene. In fact, it has a pretty impressive nightlife scene in general. So, why not take in all this beautiful city has to offer by starting with a Prague beer tour?

You’ll be taken to sample some of the best bars and microbreweries by an experienced tour guide. Many of these tours provide free snacks too so you can soak up the alcohol. There is an impressive 600 bars in the city, along with more than 100 nightclubs. So, if you love your nightlife, you’re going to love Prague!

 

Explore Wenceslas Square

After you’ve travelled to your hotel via Prague airport transfers, a great place to visit first is the Wenceslas Square. Part of the New Town, here you’ll find the great National Museum, along with other fantastic architectural attractions.

The square was actually created in the 14th century and started out as a horse market. These Days it’s a popular tourist hotspot, offering free cultural attractions and an introduction to some of the best restaurant experiences in the city. In the lead up to Christmas, the square is also used to host an impressive Christmas market.
