We all know Trinny Woodall from her career in fashion. As a celebrity stylist, she is probably best known for her legendary role alongside Suzannah on ‘What Not To Wear’ (I program I watched religiously growing up) and as time has moved on, Trinny has evolved too; now venturing into the world of beauty! Last year, Trinny London was launched – capsule collection of on-the-go makeup to keep your cosmetics bag compact on the go. To celebrate the launch of Trinny London into Selfridges Manchester, the lady herself invited a handful of us along to Sunset at Australasia, Spinningfields, to celebrate.

Sunset, the outdoor Ibiza style terrace, at Australasia in Manchester’s trendy Spinningfields was the perfect location to welcome the city’s beauty bloggers, press and fashion influencers in one place to celebrate the launch of Trinny London. Feminine, luxurious and with a buzzing atmosphere, we were welcomed with our choice of pink cocktails and pornstar martinis, alongside sushi nibbles, to help us peruse the makeup on show.

Trinny’s mission is to create a portable, versatile range of makeup, with colours to suit every woman, and at first glance it appears that Trinny London does indeed do this. Not only was Sunset decorated with imagery of Trinny’s diverse models – all ages, ethnicities and cultures, which was refreshing to see – but we were invited to swatch and swab the full collection of cosmetics on offer… Which was a lot!

As shown in these larger-than-life POS props, the core collection of Trinny London is based on building a ‘stack’ of travel sized pots, that can be carried separately or together. The idea of having your face, lip, cheek and eye products in one buildable stack is that you are able to create a capsule collection of makeup to take with you on the go… Which I guess is exactly what Trinny’s fashion ethos is all about, too!

Over all, I had a lovely night and was delighted to meet Trinny Woodall herself, who complimented me on my blazer no less! I now have my mitts on my own Trinny London stack and so once I’ve had ample time to try and test, I’ll revisit you with my verdict. Wish me luck…
