Zara Re-launch: Manchester’s New Store

A couple of weeks ago I attended the re-opening of the flagship Zara store of the North in Manchester. When I got this invite through the post (a huge wall poster, might I add – Zara clearly does nothing in halves) I got butterflies in my tummy. Despite not owning that many items from Zara, its unquestionable what a huge influence Zara are in the fashion world and with so many people asking me if I knew when the store would re-open, I was so excited to be able to say – it was time!

On arrival at the store opening, I was greeted by a black carpet – so chic – an obligatory glass of Prosecco and, more unusually, an army of models adorning our wrists with a Zara Manchester bracelet. A cute touch, I have to say, as each bracelet was personalised to the Manchester store. The theme for the night was “Dear Manchester” and Manchester were definitely replying “yes please” back.

It seems like the store had been shut for FOREVER, but it can now be forgiven for how much bigger the shop is. Despite not looking much different on face value, it now has two extra levels added; a basement and top floor. So, now Zara Manchester houses children’s wear on the basement, womenswear on the ground and first floor, and menswear on the second floor. There’s certainly a lot more room.

With DJ’s, bubbly and plenty of fashionistas in store, it was definitely an enjoyable night. Shopping experiences are always made EVEN MORE enjoyable by alcohol, although it does make the whole thing a little more dangerous for my bank balance. I was disappointed that Zara weren’t offering any discounts on the night, but I suppose they don’t have to – a little introductory offer might have been nice, though!

I didn’t buy anything on the night, but after having my eyes on this beautiful faux fur coat since first setting my eyes on it, I was lucky enough to receive it as a Christmas present this year. I am so grateful! (See my outfit wearing it here). I must have been a very good girl this year!
