As you guys know, towards the end of last year I bought my first home. It was a big deal – and a big job! With all of the excitement that comes with owning a home also comes the responsibility of making it your own, which is something I was super keen to do as soon as I could.
Although I was on quite a limited budget and wanted to do most things myself, one of the areas I didn’t want to scrimp on was my kitchen. I believe the kitchen is the hub of the home – the place where people gather around a chilli cooking on the stove, stand around the counters pouring drinks at house parties and where you make your first cup of coffee in the morning.
So, say hello to my copper and marble kitchen. My pride and joy of my new home!
The centre piece in any kitchen is of course the sink, and I looked high and low for a beautiful copper version. It wasn’t easy or inexpensive to find, but eventually I found the perfect one – could I even say the sink of my dreams? Is that a thing?
It is so unusual to find a sink in any other colour way than steel or silver, but eventually I happened upon Olif, a specialist online store for Alveus and other kitchen sinks and mixer taps with specialist designs available for sale in the UK. Not only did they have kitchen sinks in copper, but they also had sinks and taps in a whole host of other amazing colour ways such as gold, bronze, matte black and even anthracite. It made finding my perfect copper kitchen sink easy and I chose my copper mixing kitchen tap to match.
The service from Olif was excellent from start to finish and I can’t recommend them enough!
I absolutely love the way that copper and marble go together and so I opted for white and grey marble worktops. The copper theme has made accessorising super easy and so when picking appliances and storage I stuck to the colour theme. I kept the original black tiles that were in the house and I love the way they create an industrial feel.
Stay tuned for a full kitchen tour coming on my YouTube channel as soon as I have chance to edit – you’re gonna love it!
