Summer Styling with Vivienne Westwood x Melissa Footwear

The sun’s out, the shades are on and my new shoes are on my tootsies. You can never beat a pair of black flats. They work for any occasion, any time of year and are staple wardrobe items. What makes them even better? When they’re from a cult British designer, of course! Say hello to my new Vivienne Westwood x Melissa footwear – as soon as I popped them on I couldn’t take them off, and ever since I’ve been wearing them with jeans, dresses and even suits for a more dressed up look. They are truly versatile and the perfect affordable investment piece if you have more than enough handbags already!

Although I often wear them with bare legs or over bare feet with trousers, this dress certainly called for a pair of tights to cover my modesty and I think they work just as well here. Paired with a swinging smock dress and black tights, they help to elongate the legs by creating the impression of an ongoing shape, with the golden orb on the top creating just the subtlest designer detail.

I have had so many compliments on these shoes that I can’t stop wearing them. I love how simply adding on a pair of black flat shoes can make you feel so confident and put-together, without really making an effort at all. They are sophisticated, and subtle, and the perfect way to complete my wardrobe.
