Mind Body Soul Pamper Package with A Beautiful Therapy: The Divine Hub, Didsbury

The Sunday night blues are real. Whether you’re back to work, college or school on a Monday morning – and however much you might love it – it’s hard not to shake the lull of anxiety on a Sunday evening as the nights draw darker faster and the weather turns colder… That is until I found the one treatment that has managed to soothe any worries and complete switch me off on a Sunday evening; the Mind Body Soul Pamper Package with A Beautiful Therapy at The Divine Hub, in the centre of East Didsbury, Manchester.

A Beautiful Therapy is brand new indepedant health and wellness treatment service ran by Holistic Therapist, Maria Pringle. Passionate about complimentary therapies and using them alongside traditional medicine to boost your health, Maria has a room offering a wide variety of holistic treatments such as Body Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage at The Divine Hub in Didsbury. Located right in the centre of East Didsbury in South Manchester, The Divine Hub is a beautiful building with a variety of rooms offering holistic treatments and complimentary services such as yoga, private gym sessions, angel card readings, crystal healing and of course, A Beautiful Therapy.

Yesterday, I headed over to A Beautiful Therapy at 3pm on Sunday for a three hour full pamper with Maria’s bespoke made Mind, Body and Soul package. Consisting of 60 mins full body massage, 60 mins reflexology, 30 mins facial and 30 mins Indian head massage, Maria has created this package specifically to rebalance and relax even the hardest to rest clients. Designed to move up the 7 chakras, this is designed to spoil you from toe to top (rather than top to toe). And spoiler alert: it definitely does!

I was greeted by the beautiful and absolutely charming Maria who welcomed me and made me feel immediately at ease with a quick consultation, as she totally believes in personalising the treatment. Listening to my aches and pains, Maria started with a one hour full body massage made with a customer blend of aromatherapy oils containing soothing ingredients such as lavender and bergamot. Working my whole body, Maria was keen to ensure the pressure was to my liking and worked through the knots I had in my back and shoulders from my strength training personal training and weight lifting sessions I do three times a week, all whilst making sure the massage flows.

I’m sure I nodded off during some parts of the massage(!) but soon enough it was time for my one hour reflexology treatment. Reflexology doesn’t seem to get as much attention as it deserves, but it is essential a relaxing foot massage where pressure is applied to specific areas of the foot to help release any issues and blockages corresponding to certain areas of the body. It actually dates back to pre-Christ and is still used widely in Asian countries to this day, which makes me believe there’s certainly a place for it in our relaxation routine.

Maria took the time to experiment with encouraging energy flow through different areas of my feet, applying pressure to certain areas that correspond to areas of the body that cause anxiety, headaches, hormone imbalances and digestive problems. Maria is super knowledgeable about reflexology and even was able to pin point areas of my feet that hint I may need to pay attention to certain areas of my body I don’t currently pay attention to; my knees and bladder!

Finally, we finished the final hour of pampering at the crown chakra with a natural anti-ageing facial, using soft massage techniques to encourage collagen flow as a natural facelift almost. Alongside this, the treatment was finished with an Indian head massage, another historical holistic treatment designed to renew energy levels and release any stress and tension in the back, neck, shoulders and head whilst detoxifying the body.

Maria describes the Mind Body Soul pamper package as ‘experiencing pure heaven’ and to be honest, I can totally understand why. I have never felt so relaxed as I did during those three hours that I hardly wanted to leave! Even at home, I had my dinner, a glass of wine and went straight to sleep for a full 8.5 hours on a Sunday evening as soon as I lay my head down – that is unheard of for me! No Sunday night blues here, just total relaxation. At £200, it is an indulgent treatment, but ‘indulgent’ is the key word – take my advice and if you, or a loved one, needs a total detox and chill, spend the money and go for it. It’s totally worth it.
