London’s Top 5 Most Instagrammable Places

With London Fashion Week happening right now, it’s got me reminiscing about my seasons spent at Somerset house, sitting front row at fashion shows and snapping street style in the ‘big smoke’. Although I won’t be attending LFW this season, I do have some favourite hot spots for you to check out if you are down South this week. And if not, they might just give you a little inspiration when planning your next trip!

Emily and Fin, a very British London based brand established at Portobello Market, have created a map of London’s Most Instagrammable Hidden Gems. Not only do they create beautiful retro inspired fashion, but they know the very trendiest places to explore in their hometown of London. So who better to take inspiration from when looking for London’s Most Instagrammable places? I’ve chosen my top 5 below…

  1. Sketch London

I attended a work event we held for the Illamasqua x Lookfantastic launch party at Sketch in 2016, and I can’t tell you how much I’ve wanted to return since then. The pictures on their website truly don’t do it justice – Sketch has to be my personal pick for the no.1 most Instagrammable location in London!

This boutique style restaurant is so unique, there is really no place like it. With a number of different rooms with different themes, such as an Alice in Wonderland theme and a rustic ski lodge theme, there is a decor style to suit everyone. The room you will most likely recognise, however, is the pink room. It’s like a Wes Anderson dream come to live and is truly the most perfect background for an Afternoon Tea selfie. That’s not even taking into account the fantastical egg-shaped toilets with mulit-coloured ceiling!

It’s located in the heart of Soho and is pretty easy to find. Nearest Tube: Oxford Circus.

2. God’s Own Junkyard

Unlike anywhere you will have visited in London before is God’s Own Junkyard. This gallery-come-cafe describes itself as a Neon Wonderland in Walthamstow and that it truly is. It’s a true assault on the senses and reminds me of my recent trip to Las Vegas which was all things neon, bright and light – I absolutely love it!

If you are looking for a really standout place to take your Outfit of the Day pictures, this is it. Creaated by artist Chris Bracey from his vast personal collection of neon work, the gallery showcases infamous pieces from popular feature films to ‘60s pop culture. After takning your snaps, visit the punny Rolling Scones cafe/bar, where homemade cakes are a particular favourite. Snaps and snacks, what could go wrong?!

Nearest Tube: Walthamstow Central.

3. Evans and Peel Detective Agency

So, Evans and Peel Detective Agency might not actually be a real detective agency – but it’s one better. It’s a bar!

Hidden in Earl’s Court, this is a beautifully retro inspired speakeasy-themed bar, tooked away behind a bookcase. Prohibition era cocktails are on the menu, so dress up in your finest vintage gear and enjoy the art deco theme of this 20’s bar heaven. Plus, snap a picture of your G&T alongside the exposed brick walls (totally bare), simple white tiles (artfully cracked) and iconic orange-toned filament bulbs. So insta!

Nearest Tube: Earl’s Court.

4. Fashion and Textile Museum

As you can see, the aesthetic of the Fashion and Textile Museum is totally Instagrammable. Inside, it’s just as good, with no permanent exhibitions but all temporary and fast changing exhibits.

Founded by fashion designer Zandra Rhodes and now operated by Newham College, the museum offers beautiful insta backgrounds such as ribbon walls, orange and pink brick and a kaleidoscope of colour.

Nearest Tube: London Bridge.

5. Rosewood Hotel

The Rosewood Hotel is what breakfast-in-bed dream Instagram snaps are made of! One of the most luxurious hotels in the UK – let alone London – the Rosewood Hotel is just around the corner from Covent Garden, its hotel bar ideal for (celebratory) afterwork drinks or splurging on cocktails on a special date.

Nearest Tube: Holborn.
