Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer

Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer

Valentine’s Day might be over for one year (thank Goodness) but a red lip is for life, not just for a special occassion. That’s a saying, right? Well it’s kinda my life motto and a red lip will forver by my signature colour. So, on my persuit for the perfect shade, I have been trying out a few more colours of my currents favourite lip formula; Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer lipsticks and lip liners.

It’s no secret from my other recent red lipstick review blog posts that I love the formula of the Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer lipsticks; they are highly pigmented, have a lovely sheen and last all day.

My current two favourites are Cola Pop (left hand side, darker colour) – this sounds like it will be a dark brown colour, but it is more of a berry purple, which I love. This, with winged eyeliner is perfect for a subtle evening look.

On the right, the brighter red colour is Passion Pop which is more of my classic red colour. A go-to shade for me at the moment, this looks beautiful with simply mascara and blusher for a bright daytime look.

I never leave just lipstick on my lips – I always finish with a lipliner to make sure all the edges are smooth and to reduce any bleeding of colour throughout the day. Clinique Quickliner for Lips Intense is the ideal accompaniment to their Colour Pop Lipsticks.

On the left, Intense Jam is a deep purple shade that accompanies Clinique’s Colour Pop Lipstick in Cola Pop extremely well. Similarly, Quickliner in Intense Passion is a great match for the Colour Pop Lipstick in Passion (as the matchy matchy names would suggest!).

Again, the quality of these lipliners is fantastic. They may be a little more pricey than a drugstore alternative, but for £13 they last extremely well and remain throughout eating and drinking, even when the lipstick has faded a little in the middle. They reduce any colour payoff around the sides of the mouth and are soft and easy to apply.

If you are a fan of your red lipstick and haven’t yet tried Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer Lipsticks and Lipliners, I would urge you to give them a go. I reach for these every time over any more expensive alternatives and am never disappointed with their long lasting formula. Are they kiss proof? I’m not sure yet, but if I find out I’ll let you know…

Those shades are so pretty! I’m usually quite scared of wearing a red lip but I would definitely try that deeper more berry shade!
