Dreaming of Being By The Pool in 2022

At this point, we have been living in various states of lockdown for coming up to 2 years. Needs must and its been for the best in terms of trying to keep everyone safe – but what I wouldn’t give for a holiday abroad right now! It has to be the thing I am missing the most about our old way of life right now (call it the ‘January blues’ maybe) and I am so hoping that in 2022 I will be able to get away.

In fact, there’s nothing more I’d love than to escape this snowy Manchester January and get on a plane to be poolside, so to cheer up this dull Thursday I’ve put together my Summer 2022 Wishlist!

Catching Some Shade

As much as I am craving the sun, I know with my pale skin I can’t be out in it for long! Therefore its important for me to find a place by the pool with a parasol or umbrella so I can catch some shade as well as rays!

Having an umbrella in your pool area is a great way to make it more inviting and comfortable. Not only will it provide shade, but it can also add some colour and personality to the space. Umbrellas are also the perfect way to keep your cocktail cool and out of the sun!

Relax on a Pool Deck

A pool deck can provide a place to relax and soak up the sun and create an inviting space for guests. There are many different types of pool decks at all different hotels and villas, but right now I’m not fussy – any pool deck will do!

Lounging on Luxury Furniture

Since owning my own home, I take notice of furniture in hotels a lot more now! I think its a great indication of not only quality, but comfort too – and for a relaxing holiday that’s important.

Adding furniture to your pool area can help make it more inviting. Choose comfortable chairs or a lounger that will allow you to relax in the sun. If you have room, add a small table to have a place to set down drinks or snacks.

Water Features and Fountains

There’s something so special about the small water features and fountains that grace all inclusive hotels. They just feel so – holiday(ish)!

Adding a tabletop fountain to your pool area can help make it more inviting. The trick is not to place it directly in the same space as where you will be swimming, but near enough that you still hear the soothing sounds of splashing water when relaxing.

Mood Lighting

There are few things that give me more satisfaction than being on holiday when the sun sets. After taking in what is always a far more impressive sunset than at home (plus having the luxury of time to enjoy it!), I love when the flooring lights switch on and the hotel is lit up for the evening. It’s truly a fantastic way to set the mood for the evening.

Installing lighting around your pool area is a quick and easy way to make it more inviting. Pool lights come in various styles so that you can find the perfect ones for your space. You can also choose between different colors so that you can create the ideal atmosphere for your pool area.

Relaxing in Privacy

The older I get, the more I enjoy my privacy – especially on holiday! Sure, I don’t mind sharing a hotel, but at a distance and with adequate time alone (I’m not trying to sound miserable, its just true!).

Adding a privacy wall or fence around your pool area is another way to make it more inviting. This can be especially important if you live in an urban neighborhood where the only thing blocking your view of neighbors’ homes might be trees and shrubs.

Feeling the Heat

Heated pools on holiday are just one of the best things about staying in a hotel. Sure, its usually hot outside, but what’s better than being hot outside? When its hot inside of the pool, too!

One of the essential elements to make your pool area more inviting is heating your swimming pool. The days are getting shorter, temperatures continue dropping, and you will probably not want to hop into cold water. Depending on your location in the world, during autumn/winter, it can be difficult for some people to be in a cold pool.

If you want to heat your swimming pool, there are several options available for you: Be sure to Contact Pool Heating Experts for the best advice.
