February 2014 Roundup

Hey kittens, welcome to my second monthly round-up of my going-ons and favourites. Today, I’m going to get a little bit pers-un-allll all around February, which to be honest has been a little more than eventful in ways I never could have predicted! If you aren’t interested in this little monthly update, feel free just to look at the pictures or, go down to my comments and let me know what you’ve been up to instead!

Firstly, my ultimate fashion favourite of February had to be attending my first London Fashion Week (I know, can you believe it?!). Although I was invited last year, I was unfortunately (or fortunately!) in Rome for the SS14 season and so had to give it a miss. This season, however, I made sure I could make it! So, when The Body Shop invited me to have access all areas passes to Fashion Scout for the main LFW weekend, I jumped at the chance. I ended up spending the busiest weekend of my life down in that there London, flitting between Somerset House, The Savoy and The Freemasons Hall, sitting front row, visiting backstage and learning about The Body Shop’s makeup looks for the whole of Fashion Scout. Catch up with my first blog post about it here (I stil have two more to write and a vlog coming up!). I am so greatful for the opportunity and can’t wait to share it fully with y’all!

I was also lucky enough to attend some fashion events closer to home, including the Country Attire VIP Fashion Night at Revocion De Cuba (don’t ever let anyone tell you that I’m not partial to a bit of Cuban dancing) and the super luxurious Mulberry and Moet night at my favourite hotel, the Radisson Blu Edwardian at the Free Trade Hall. As well as being invited to the Halo Hair Event, Harvey Nichols Fresh Laces Event and Selfridges x Science Festival, my highlight had to be the first Manchester Fashion Week 2014 meeting of the year. There, we had a photoshoot with all the Official Bloggers and were also told the dates of MCRFW14 – you can find all the details on when it’s taking place here!

Blogwise, highlights included being featured on the ASOS As Seen On Me homepage (on the top row – eeek!) and being part of Boohoo’s #OwnIt campaign, which you might have seen some adverts on the telly for. I also posted some of my favourite Outfit of the Day blog posts of all time, including my not-so-festive Valentine’s Day outfit and one of my most popular looks so far, a Wednesday Adams inspired look. I’m thinking of wearing this look to MCRFW14, whatcha think?!

Finally, I’ve had two main parts of change in my personal life in February – both unpredictable and are taking a little bit of time to get used to. I don’t think the time is right to reveal them just yet (I’ll definitely let you know about one of them next month, when it gets a little more real!) but as the other is more personal than professional, I’m still debating whether or not to talk about that on here. It’s also a lot less cheery. Meh, I guess y’all will find out either way soon enough!

I’m already excited for what March has to offer; it’s set to be a lot different from the other months this year and I’ve got some excited pipe dreams lined up to be manufactured in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more.
