Festival Fashion & Festival Essentials

OUTFIT DETAILS denim shorts: vintage Levis // floral print tassle kimono: MissPap* // vest top: Primark // art deco style heels: market stall // rope style belt: Primark // pink floral crown: Claire’s* // faux feather necklace: Get The Label*

Hey kittens! If you’re on your half term holidays this week, then I hope you’re having a lovely break and hopefully the weather isn’t dampening (soaking) your spirits. Fortunately, I was able to get outside in the sun to photograph this outfit on Monday when it was actually shorts and t-shirt weather – and it’s a good job I did it when I could, although perhaps a pair of wellies would have actually suited this festival fashion style post quite well…

Since being invited to Wireless Festival this year, I’ve been daydreaming about what I might wear to my first ever festival (yes really!). With only 6 weeks to go – eek! – I was almost entering pre-event panic mode; nothing was looking quite right. That was, however, until this glorious kimono popped through the post from one of my fav online stores, MissPap. Just look how unusual it is – the warm graphic floral print, the orange tassles, the ombre shade. It’s like it was MADE for me to wear to Wireless, and well, it would be rude not to!

The rest of the outfit I kept pretty simple (well, as ‘minimilist’ I get with my personal style) with a faux feather necklace, big peace sign earrings and a bright floral crown to compliment the festival style. I have to admit, heels aren’t probably the most realistic option, but girl’s gotta have some fashion freedom.

OUTWEAR DETAILS baby blue rain mac: Drystar*

However, I did get a little more realistic by including the option of adding a rain mac (which is incidentally coming in very handy in our current climate). This waterproof coat from Drystar is a lovely little festival essential – thin enough to roll up in your backpack, whilst also having the luxury of double silver lining. I can definitely see this coming in handy, and with a range of pretty pastel colours, there’s no reason to look dull whilst trying to keep dry!

FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS tortoise print sunglasses: Sunglasses Junkie* // pink mini iPhone charge: Futurocks*

In the spirit of festival fashion, I thought I better add in two more of my festival essentials. Firstly, this slim-line pink contraption is actually a portable phone charger; a must have for any blogger on the go. Lord knows I’ve gotten myself into too many situations where I’ve ran out of charge and just NEEDED to tweet some fashion pictures, so this mini iPhone charger from Futurocks has become a lifesaver for me. Plus, no outdoor summer outfit is complete without a pair of shades and with these trendy tortoise shell ones coming in at only a tenner, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if at the festival someone accidentally fist-pumped in the general direction of your face.

Finally, like I said – this year I will be experiencing my first ever festival – Wireless! With only 6 weeks left to go (36 days, 19 hours, 43 minutes, 21 seconds…) til it all kicks off on the long weekend of 4th – 6th June, I’m quite literally counting down the days. I really can’t wait to share my experience there with y’all, but if you fancy heading over to Birmingham or London to experience it yourself, click here to grab yourself some tickets before it’s all sold out.

So kittens, will you be attending any festivals this year? If not, have you ever been to one? Which would you love to attend? Leave me a comment below and let me know – I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks, Danni!! A lot of my belts are from Primark as I can't justify spending a lot on something that is only there for decoration really. This one was only £1 (I think) and have had it for years! x

Thanks Laura! I wouldn't always wear a rain coat but looked like it would have been handy for Parklife this weekend! x
