Glowing Summer Skin with the PIXI Beauty New Vitamin C Skincare Range

Summer is here, and in beauty blogging timelines, that means it’s about time we get the glow! With warmer weather comes minimal makeup and a wish for more glowy, radiant complexions over full-coverage, matte finishes. For me, my everyday work makeup routine is fairly minimal – brush my eyebrows (but never my hair), mascara, a CC cream and a cream blush – and therefore I do like to have a fairly glowy complexion all year round where I can manage it. This is where the new Vitamin C skincare range by PIXI Beauty comes in. Just like we know Vitamin C supplements are great for boosting our immune system and keeping our body heatlhy, Vitamin C is an excellent skincare ingredient for helping to keep our complexion looking, and feeling, glowing.

You guys know that I am a big fan of PIXI’s skincare products, and their Vitamin C range is no exception. Probably best known for their cult toner, Pixi Glow Tonic (I’m sure you’ve all heard – if not tried – that one), PIXI Beauty’s latest addition to their ever-growing toner family is their Vitamin C Tonic. At £18 for a decent 250ml amount, it’s an affordable, alcohol free toner suitable for all skin types. It contains probiotics to help fortify your skin’s barrier, while willow bark and fruit extracts gently exfoliate. After cleansing, I like to soak a cotton pad in the PIXI Beauty Vitamin C Tonic and gently wipe in upwards motions across my face. It smells amazing (like oranges!) and leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean, ready for my serum and moisturiser.

Speaking of serum and moisturiser, PIXI’s new Vitamin-C Caviar Balm and Vitamin-C Lotion are both packed full of antioxidants. With Vitamin C proven to promote healthy collagen production (collagen is the stuff that keeps you skin looking plump, reducing wrinkles) and boost luminosity, these two products are especially great for those who want to give their skin that added glowy boost for summer! At £24 each, I also think the price point for these products are very reasonable, especially when comparing the ingredients with other Vitamin C focused skincare products which are typically at a higher end price point.

Also worth taking note of is PIXI’s new Vitamin-C Serum. This is a reinvention of a similar serum I am using from Pixi at the moment – the Glow Tonic Serum – and I am nearly at the end of the bottle, so looking forward to trying this one. The Vitamin-C serum contains well, obviously vitamin c, but also ferulic acid. The combination of these two products are proven to reduce the effects of sun damage and free radicals, which is instrumental in minimising the signs of aging. Vitamin C and Ferulic acid have earnt cult status in the beauty blogger world for this very reason, so I am super excited to try this out! This product has now even sold out on the Pixi website, so I feel even luckier to be able to have my hands on this and I will be adding it into my night time skincare routine as soon as my Glow Tonic Serum is fully used up.

However, the product from the Vitamin C Skin Treats range that really caught my attention was the new PIXI Vitamin C Juice Cleanser. This product is unlike any other PIXI products I have used previously and so I couldn’t wait to try it! With a handy pump lid (perfect for using with cotton buds straight on top), this is a brightening cleansing water with stable Vitamin C, for potent antioxidant effect. Think: a micellar water but with added skincare benefits that help to brighten and tone skin – almost like a makeup remove and skincare treatment all in one.

Over all, I am super impressed with the Vitamin C skincare range by PIXI Beauty. For me, having a totally Vitamin C skincare range is a little overkill, but what I do like to do is mix and match different products with different ingredients into my morning and night skincare regimens so I know that I am giving my skin a healthy mix of different natural and antioxidant ingredients to get it glowing the best way it can.
