How To Relax Before Your Wedding Day

For most people, your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and because of that, it can also end up being one of the most daunting and stressful. In the midst of trying to do everything yourself so that you know it’s done perfectly, people often tend to become overwhelmed and overrun – that only adds to the seemingly never-ending list of things that you need to deal with, making things even worse. There are, however, ways that you can try to trim down the stress you face leading up to your wedding day, so you’ll be able to enjoy the entire experience rather than fret and worry about the events to come. Check out our top tips on how to relax before your wedding day below!

Delegate to Those That You Trust

Now, we’re not saying that you should just palm off all your wedding planning on everyone else – that’d be a disaster and we wouldn’t wish that on anybody. However, asking your most trusted friends and family members to keep an eye on some of the minor details can help you to free up a little bit of space in your own mind and relax a little bit before the big day. Whether that’s just asking your sister to make sure that your grandparents get to the venue okay or getting your maid of honour to check that the venue has been dressed as you’ve asked, every little helps!

Look After (And Pamper!) Yourself

Another important thing to keep an eye on is… yourself! It is your wedding, after all, so make sure you’re in the right headspace as you take the next step with your soon to be husband or wife by putting time aside to look after number 1. If you’ve still got time to drop hints for what you’d want on your hen do, maybe suggest an alternative to the usual binge drinking and embarrassing memories at less than classy bars by asking to head off to a hen do spa day!

Hear us out on this one; we know it isn’t the usual hen do activity, but is that such a bad thing? Hen do’s tend to be loud, rowdy affairs that blend into one big blur of shots, cocktails, bars, half-naked firemen, and bad decisions that result in sore heads and sick buckets on hand the next morning – not quite what you’d be looking for if you’re trying to relax after months of stressful wedding planning. Heading off to a spa day can give you some much-needed relaxation time with massages, facials, sauna sessions, or even a dip in the pool helping you to chill out as much as possible.

Keep Connected

Perhaps the most important thing in the build-up to your wedding is keeping connected with your partner – so often it’s a case of spending so much time trying to craft the perfect way to commit to each other that you momentarily neglect the relationship that you’re working so hard to celebrate. Save a few hours a day, if possible, to just chat and unwind with your future bride or groom to keep yourselves feeling connected and in touch with each other in preparation for the wedding!

Now you know how to keep calm and relaxed in the build-up to your wedding, we hope you can have a thoroughly enjoyable day that lives up to all of your expectations. Remember, there’s nothing to worry about and you and your partner are the most important parts of the wedding, so make sure you’re both happy, healthy, and prepared for the biggest day of your lives!
