Outfit of the Day: Pleather & Studs

Hey kittens!

Inbetween the rain and dark (well, it’s pretty dark in these pictures, no?) I dashed out and took these quick Outfit of the Day photos for y’all.

I love this outfit – it’s one which could be dressed up with higher heels or one which could be dressed down with a vest under the shirt or a punky leather jacket. Instead, I’ve dressed this outfit halfway, although I must confess this sheer shirt from MissPap* is a little daring for me – I usually wear a vest top underneath so it isn’t sheer. However, I love the way the sheer mesh looks shirt looks alongside the studs and pleather of this beaut midi skirt from Dresses for Breakfast* – find them on Twitter here or Facebook here. I also think the length of this skirt makes it a bit more acceptable to wear a shirt like this as it’s intended to be worn – I’m still obeying the unwritten female rule of not showing too much chest or too much legs at the same time. Plus, I love clashing textures!

The skirt from Dresses for Breakfast (Twitter here or Facebook here) is one of my winter staples. Pleather (plastic/leather for those in the know) is huge this Winter and it’s only going to get bigger. That, coupled with it’s gold studding and ribbed pannelled sides makes it a huge statement piece whilst it’s black colour also makes it totally wearable. In fact, I’ve already worn it to a number of different fashion PR events and been complimented on it every time, as it’s so easy to wear in different ways. Also kittens, it’s a bit of a bonus it isn’t real leather – no animals were harmed in the making of this outfit, bonus!

As y’all kittens know, I am mad on studs at the moment, particularlly gold ones, and this is another theme in this outfit. As I said before, I love the stud detailing on this midi skirt and I’ve paired this up with the studs on my shirt collar and chelsea boots. The gold studs and multiple buckles on these chelsea boots*, from Cloggs, are a fabulous statement piece and the small heel makes them formal yet still so comfortable.

So kittens, what do you think to the different textures in the outfit? Would you dare to wear?
