Review: Bags and More

Hey kittens!

It is no secret to y’all that I’m a proud Mancunian.

I love being from Manchester and the subtle British patriotism that has worked it’s way into fashion since 2011. It started from the Royal Wedding in 2011, then the Queen’s Jubilee in Spring 2012 before the Olympics in summer of 2012. Over all, the past couple of years have seen an increase in patriotism in the UK and this has been reflected in fashion.

Not only have the shops been stocking bunting, Royal teasets and quaint tea stands, fashion has also had a sense of patriotism since Spring 2012 and this is set to continue. I have loved wearing crown earrings and dressing in red, white and blue and now I have found the perfect accessory – the Union Jack hangbag!

Now, I must confess I have had a small, messenger-type union jack bag for around 5 years. However, I have now loved it and let it go. It is tatty – it is falling apart and too small. However, it has now been replaced with this large, tote-stype bag from Bags and More, which is not only a statement piece, but hugely practical too!

A quirky (and somewhat ironic detail to this Union Jack bag) is that Bags and More handbags are made exclusively by a small family business in Madagascar. A cute fact is that Bags and More was created after receiving so many compliments about the bags the family had bought in Madagascar one summer that they decided to seek out a supplier and have been working together ever since – kinda sweet, huh? The thing I like most about them is that they are somewhat exclusive – they only stock a limited line of designs in bags each year, starting in the Spring and of course they won’t be on the high street!

So kittens, here is a lil’ Kitten Tip for y’all; the Union Jack bags are currently on special offer at just £18 for the large and £14 for the small. Pretty much a bargain considering this is below the average price of a high street handbag and as far as I can tell having used my bag for over a month, are better quality, unique and bigger! I’ve received so many compliments on my bag already.

So kittens, if you fancy injecting a little British pride into your wardrobe in 2013, be sure to check out Bags and More for a spot of exotic inspiration. Or, if you’re looking for a birthday present for a loved one, these would make quirky and unique gifts. Their January sale is also set to start this weekend (bonus!).
