How To Host A Pyjama Party

IMG_8696

Is there anything better than a party in your pyjamas? I’m gonna say no. Whilst I do love putting on a nice dress and heels, it’s my worst kept social media secret that I just as much love snuggling up on the sofa with my pug, throwing on a pair of jammies and chilling out in front of the TV with a glass of wine.

So, when MoneySuperMarket set me the challenge last week to throw an epic party to celebrate their #EpicDanceOff advert premiere, I thought there was no better way to celebrate than to get my mates involved in my fav evening past time. Here’s how I did it and my advice on how to host a pyjama party.

Set a Theme

Sitting and having a TV night with my best buds would have been fun enough as it was, but setting a theme just helped to take it to the next level. I mean, chilling in your pyjamas around actual other people is kinda a novelty, right? Whether you decide to host a pyjama party, fancy dress party or cocktail party, it’s always nice to set a theme and let everyone know what to expect on the night when you invite them. Can’t have one person turn up in their jeans and t-shirt can we?!

Decoration

For a pyjama party, you don’t need to go all out with themed decorations, but it’s always nice to dress the place up a little bit to make a proper occasion of it. For my pyjama party, I went for a casual spring evening theme, with some daffodils, scented candles and a little party paper table decorations to make the place look special.

Food and Drink

Firstly, wine. Secondly, food. If you’re going for a certain theme, find food to match (for instance, if you’re having a Hawaiian party get some Caribbean food on the go). For my pyjama party, I wanted to recreate the feeling of having a snug night in with comfort food, so I cooked up a selection of my favourite sweets and snacks. Pizza: check. Cupcakes: check. Not the best if you’re on a diet, but good for a treat once in a while!

Entertainment

My pyjama party entertainment was pretty self explanatory – a Saturday night watching feel good TV on ITV, giggling through Britain’s Got Talent waiting for the #EpicDanceOff big reveal. Honestly, that’s my fav thing to do on a Saturday night and if you follow me on Twitter I’m sure you’ll notice I’m always tweeting about my fav Saturday night programs!

Enjoy Yourself

And the most important part of the night after following my tips on how to host a pyjama party – enjoy yourself! Being the host is an important job but once all your guests are here, your food and drink is being devoured and you’re on with your entertainment, the final job is to sit back, relax and enjoy your party.
