Hey kittens, hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend! Today’s post is something a little different for me, but one I’ve done before and am hoping to bring back more regularly into my blog whilst I have a little more time to take pictures in the daylight. Yes, real, natural sunlight! Anyway, back to the point – here are my top footwear picks from my new favourite collections for Spring. I have no doubt you will see these all in my Outfit of the Day posts soon, but for now, I thought I would share them whilst they’re hot off the press (and so y’all have time to get your paws on them if you want them, too!).
Firstly, these Clarks loafers have fast become my Spring staple shoe (and its only March!). I feel that once it starts getting slightly warmer – and that is only very slight, living in rainy Manchester – I start turning all my black accessories to tan. I’ve said it before, I know, but its true. A warm brown is just SO much more summery than all black everrrythang, so matching a pair of comfortable work flats with a skinny tan belt and tassle tan handbag is my subtle SS14 move.

Next, these BucketFeet shoes are something really different. If you’ve been keeping an eye on your footwear trends this 2014, you’ll have noticed that canvas flats have been making a huge comeback – this is SO nostalgic for me, as when I was 13 I was an absolute mosher and used to love wearing those checkerboard vans skate shoes (you remember ’em!). BucketFeet work with local, independant artists to create unique designs for each of their shoes and whilst they are still fairly new in the UK, they’re unisex, so they make a pretty special (and wearable) gift for pretty much anyone! They’re now available from Schuh here.

Okay so, these are my favourites! Not gonna lie, I have an unhealthy obsession with Vivienne Westwood (y’all know this already) and these pretty pink ballet flats are the latest addition to my collection. I already have older versions of these Vivienne Westwood X Melissa Anglomania flats in black and another pair in bright red, but when I spotted these new collection, nude coloured ones on the Daniel Footwear website, I just couldn’t resist. With the cut-out gold Westwood orb on the toes to add a sublt bit of bling, these are the perfect dolly shoes to be wearing with pretty floral dresses in the Spring and I CANNOT wait! Keep your eyes peeled for these in an OOTD blog post very soon…

Finally, I have to give a shout out to a pair of shoes I never thought I would find myself wearing – UGG boots! I know, I am weak, I have given into them. After years of resisting them throughout college and university, where they were pretty much a uniform, I have resigned to them as a 23 year old woman and I couldn’t be happier to finally slip my tootsies into such a comfortable home. As the slogan says, they really feel like nothing else. And, although this might be a SS14 edit, we all know it’s still gonna be pretty chilly in Manchester for some time to come and in my favourite spring tan colour, I am sure these new UGGS from their Creative Council collection will see me through.

So kittens, what are your top footwear picks for this season? Would you like to see more blog posts like this? Please leave me a comment below and let me know!
