Victory Chop and Ale House, The Village Cheadle: #ChopRocks

Hey kittens, today’s blog post is another little delve into my more Lifestyle side of the blog. It’s one I’m really hoping to expand on, so when I was invited down to the #Choprocks relaunch of the Victory Chop and Ale House, in Cheadle, I jumped at the chance.

The Victory Chop and Ale House is a grill restaurant situated within the De Vere Village Hotel, Cheadle. It’s been open for a while but tonight’s event was to celebrate a new food and cocktail menu, relaunching it as a local destination for food. Before going, I was dubious – I mean, there’s only so much you can expect of a hotel restaurant – but upon entering I was pleasantly surprised to find myself completely forgetting it was part of wider complex.

Inside, the decor is reminscient of a sophisticated 1950’s American diner, with dark green leather seats, chrome finishings and black tiles. I personally love how it looks; it certainly lives up to some higher end restaurants in Manchester city centre and is almost a little hidden gem within Cheadle.

As we were greeted with live music by blues performer Dominic Halpin – very fitting to the surroundings – we got stuck in with a spot of socialising. We had the chance to talk to other guests and The Village staff, who were all super friendly and helpful. Other activities included an hourly Twitter competition with the chance to win regular prizes, and a Twitter wall to share all our updates!

During the night, we were invited to try an array of canapes to give us a taste of what the Victory Chop and Ale House had to offer.Naturally, there was a lot of steak, but being a veggie I steered away from this and was happy to see some vegetarian alternatives on offer, such as goats cheese starters, sweet potato fries and garlic bread. For dessert, we were offered mini chocolate brownies and cheese cake. So, how was it? Everything I tasted was gorgeous, and I would definitely love to return to try a full 3 course meal. Yum!

Over all, I was surprised at how high quality everything in the Victory Cop and Ale House was, and it’s definitely lead me to want to try it further. Heck, the staff were so welcoming, I’d even love to come for a whole weekend and try the rest of The Village Cheadle’s facilities as a little mini break. A swim, a dinner and a stay… Yes please!
