6 Ways to Stay Feeling Youthful

We all want to retain our youthful glow and delay the signs of ageing for as long as possible, but what’s the best way to stay feeling (and hopefully looking!) youthful? If you want to turn the clock back and enhance your look, take a look at these top tips for looking and feeling younger…

Choose your colour carefully

If you’re colouring your hair, ensure your stylist understands the tone you’re after. Ash tones can be ageing, depending on your natural colouring, so these may be best to avoid. However, your natural complexion and eye colour will have a big impact on what suits you, so discuss your options with your hairstylist before they get to work. Warm tones or golden hues, along with varying shades, can help to make you look younger, and they can be adapted to suit almost any skin tone.

Wear sunscreen

Although many foundations contain SPF, it may not be strong enough to offer you the sun protection you need. If in doubt, applying a separate sunscreen can help to prevent damage occurring to your skin. However, it isn’t just your face which can benefit from sunscreen. Apply to your neck, décolletage and hands to ensure a youthful appearance for years to come.

Find the right skincare

Some skincare brands offer great results for some individuals but don’t do anything to help others. It can take a while to find the right brand for you, but it’s certainly worth the search. Look for brands which offer dedicated anti-ageing products and high-quality ingredients, such as Ocinium Skincare, and you’ll be on your way to a more youthful appearance. Just remember you have to use it consistently to see results.

Opt for fuller lips

As we age, our lips can become thinner, so getting the perfect pout is one way to ensure you look younger. With a range of lip-boosting products on the market, you needn’t rely on fillers to achieve the look either. Using a lip liner which matches the natural tone of your lips is an easy way to make your lips look fuller. Simply add lip gloss atop the liner to ensure the skin stays hydrated, and you’ll have the perfect pout in seconds.

Try Vitamin A

Many skincare products contain Vitamin A, and there’s a good reason why. Studies have shown that Vitamin A can help skin cell production, as well as helping to smooth skin, unclog pores and speed up cell turnover. Often referred to as retinoids or retinols, try skincare products that contain Vitamin A if you want to maintain a youthful glow and unblemished skin.

Switch to charcoal

For many people, jet black is the go-to colour for eyeliner, but it can be quite harsh and unforgiving. Similarly, liquid liner may highlight ageing, as opposed to minimising it, so it’s something you may want to avoid. Instead of using jet black liners, choose charcoal or grey instead. Smoothing it out, rather than using a severe line, also creates a softer effect which helps to promote youthfulness.
