Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara Review

Benefit Cosmetic’s Roller Lash mascara is EVERYWHERE right now. Literally, everywhere. And after attending the launch of it on the very special Benebabe bus that rocked up in Manchester a few weeks ago (read all about it here), I’ve been excited to show y’all a close up of the product – and exactly what I think.
What is Roller Lash?
If by some small chance you’ve not heard of the #RollerLash* hype that’s sweeping the UK, Benefit are releasing a brand new mascara in March this year. It’s based on the retro pink hair curlers, that grip on to your hair and hold your waves in place (I’m not speaking from experience – obviously!). The tiny bristles on this little pink brush encourage you to ‘hook and roll’ – hook the brush side onto the roots of your lashes, before rolling the brush to spread the coverage of product. Plus, it all comes in packaging that is cute to boot! #CurlsBestFriend
So, what do I really think of this mascara?

Do I like it? Yeah, I do. It does what it says it will on the tin (lift and curl lashes) and holds true to it (I have been wearing this daily for work and it stays put for the 12 hours or so I am out of the house).
Is it my favourite mascara? No, and it’s not my favourite Benefit Cosmetics mascara either. I am a long time fan of Benefit’s no.1 best selling mascara, They’re Real, and the accompanying eyeliner (which I learnt all about on the very different Benebus tour of 2014 here). For me, Roller Lash is not as good as They’re Real, but that may have something to do with my lash length.
Roller Lash is geared towards those with shorter lashes, or those who struggle to apply mascara to smaller eyes, where as I am both blessed and cursed with thick, dark hair – and therefore thick, long lashes. So, when I wear a mascara, I like to REALLY wear a mascara, and They’re Real gives me that distinction and definition I prefer. However, it is stubborn to remove, and Roller Lash is certainly a lot better in that department – it is the blackest black mascara I have ever used and yet still relatively easy to remove.
Would I recommend this?
Roller Lash may not be my favourite mascara, but it’s still a good product, and I would recommend it to those who are looking for a product to bring out fair or short eyelashes. For £17.50, however, I don’t reckon there’s enough of a difference to a £8 drugstore mascara, and for that reason I will continue to turn to Benefit Cosmetics for They’re Real, and not Roller Lash.

So you're a loyal They're Real fan, I have to say thats never been my favourite mascara. It irritates my eyes which is a shame because I do like how long it makes my lashes look. Roller Lash for me is perfect no irritation & I think its a great everyday mascara.
