Look Fantastic: Midsummer Meet

Hey kittens, hope y’all are having a good week! This is pretty much a long overdue post (I KNOW it’s definitely not summer anymore, sorry!) but it’s a goodie, so hopefully you can forgive me… If you remember my Holiday Essentials beauty post from a couple of weeks ago, you’ll remember that I did a guest blog post for Look Fantastic. I had a fab time writing the article; who would have guessed that one website would sell so many different beauty brands?

So, I was absolutely delighted when Look FantasticAll Sole and My Bag invited me to their #MidSummerMeet, an event night just for beauty and fashion bloggers (to meet, in case you hadn’t gathered that). However, it was also much more than that, with an array of huge brands setting up show and so I was super excited to pop along to the event at one of my favourite Norther Quarter bards, Walrus, and see what was going on.

When I walked down the steps of Walrus into their basement bar, I was pretty much blown away by how busy it is. Usually I rock up unfashionably late to events, and this day wasn’t really an exception (I was only a couple of minutes late, so early for me) but the venue was literally jam-packed. Bloggers, brands and erm, bar staff milling everywhere. It was so packed I could barely squeeze myself along to some of the brands, but don’t get me wrong, I would much rather there be a buzz of excitement than nothing going on, and it was a fab atmosphere. Camera flashes everywhere!

Every so often, brand stands (I’m a poet and I didn’t know it) were dotted up around the venue showing off the best of their collections and demonstrating products. As Look Fantastic, All Sole and My Bag are part of The Hut Group, which is a huge retail umbrella brand, I wasn’t surprised to see so many big names there. My favourite beauty demos taking place over the night were from Bumble and Bumble, Benefit Cosmetics, Moroccan Oil, L’Oreal Professional, Evo and Nails Inc – who even gave me a manicure with their new gel-esque nail polish range. Love it!

Of course, there were also some key fashion brands on display – we’re talking Jeffrey Campbell, The Cambridge Satchel Company and note, my favourite designer, Vivienne Westwood. I was pretty amused that they had the Vivienne Westwood x Melissa shoes on show that I was even wearing that night. Well, what can I say, they must have good taste!

Aside from all the great fashion, cosmetics and hair brands on display – most of which and more we were able to try in the huge goodie SACK – there were free drinks, cupcakes and cake pops to butter us up. Most of all, it was lovely to have such a huge blogger event taking place in Manchester, where I could catch up with my fav blogger babes and a whole host of new faces too. Thanks so much Look Fantastic – I had an amazing time. Who says Londoners get to have all the fun?

So kittens, have you ever heard of Look Fantastic? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitterlike my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!

  1. The decor is beautiful – understated, but elegant, and the view, oh, the view. Even on a rainy Friday, it was great to just sit at the window and overlook the city.
