OOTD: Spikes & Handmade Leggings

Hey kittens!
This
is a very special outfit post. Not only because it’s a bit of a tougher
look than my usual, but also because it features… Wait for it…
COUTURE.
Yes, actual, real life couture.

Hey kittens!
This is a very special outfit post. Not only because it’s a bit of a tougher look than my usual, but also because it features… Wait for it… COUTURE.
Yes, actual, real life couture.
Now, y’all probably (almost always rightly) think that couture is reserved for the richest of wallest and highest of high fashion. And most of the time that’s right, however these amazing leggings were tailored specifically for me by Dancing Dolls for Fashion Pony*.
You will quite literally never ever see another pair of leggings the same as these and I cannot tell you how excited that makes me! As y’all kittens know, I fully believe fashion is all about experimentation, self-expression and originality and these beauties are a fabulous combination of all these. These leggings are called are called ‘Crown Jewels’ by Dancing Dolls Uk for Fashion Pony and are £150 – this may seem pricey for a pair of leggings, but for a piece of couture, they’re a snip at the usual thousands of pounds you’d normally invest in!
So kittens, this affordability yet high fashion uniqueness is the key part that has drawn me to Fashion Pony as a brand. www.fashionpony.co.uk (FP) is an independent, on-line fashion destination, dedicated to showcasing and nurturing today’s best new-generation fashion designers and brands. ‘Lead don’t follow’ is the ethos behind Fashion Pony (the name itself being a unique twist on the phrase ‘clothes horse’) and at FP they are devoted to uncovering the best new, emerging talent within the UK fashion scene – and y’all kittens know I love British fashion pride!
Dancing Dolls UK have been a part of the Fashion Pony family for the past few years, supplying urban, sexy chic woman’s wear that fuses the feisty, empowering relationship between dancer and dance form along with creative fashion ideas to produce exclusive casual evening wear, as well as unique swimwear.
I paired my Dancing Dolls for Fashion Pony leggings* with this fabulous Verona Spike Faux-leather jacket I chose as my sample item from the Daisy Street blogger event earlier this year (y’all can watch my video and read my blog post on the event here and here). I love that the detail on the leggings make it so easy to mix gold and silver details together – a task which is often risky to do!
As both the jacket and leggings are obviously quite adorned, I wanted to keep the rest of the look simple. I chose this sheer white shirt from Primark to add a fresh and lighter and brighter element to the outfit – I think it compliments the monochrome trend really nicely and creates a relaxed look.

The final touches were added by my Ray Ban Clubmasters* from Pretavoir to add to the tough look and of course my amazingly versatile and forever fashionable black chelsea boots* from Cloggs.
So kittens, what do you think? Do you own any unique fashion pieces? What type of couture would you like to eventually own? Let me know in the comments below!
