Outfit of the Day: Baroque Trousers and Embellished Shirt

Trousers: Peacocks – Shirt: Lasula Boutique – Heels: Linzi – Necklace & Bracelet: Jon Richard – Earrings: The Jewel Hut

Hey kitty cats! We’re getting well and truly into September now, so surely it’s only right to embrace autumn a little more with a look that truly reflects this time of year – even if its still pretty warm where I am!

Today’s look is very “me” I feel – its formal, it’s patterned and its still a little bit retro. Y’all have seen me style patterned trousers in my posts before, but not yet as formally as this. There are many different ways that a pair of cigarette pants can be worn – check out my attempts at sports luxe, Aztec trends and monochrome chic for a peak into previous styles. However, this outfit has to be my favourite so far..
Baroque is one of my favourite patterns; it really appeals to my love of all things vintage glamour and whispers to my darker side a little, too. These slouch fit trousers from Peacocks are one of my favourite new Autumn/Winter wardrobe items. Not only do they look formal, they’re also super comfortable too! I’m looking forward to wearing these both with blouses and with a simple T-shirt for those cozy, lazy days.

Of course, once I’ve got myself a theme I’m gonna roll with it, so it seemed like this embellished blouse from the new Lasula Boutique was the ideal way to add yet more intricate detail to the look. As a lover of blouses, wearing one almost every day, it’s become an inner challenger to find one more unusual than the other. At work, it’s become almost my trademark to be seen in outgoing shirts, so this little white number with its jewelled collar has become a welcome addition to my everyday wardrobe.

For accessories, I decided to contrast the vintage intricacy of the trousers with some modern jewellery and this necklace and bracelet set from Jasper Conran at Jon Richard was perfect. The cold, steely texture fits in well with the blue tones in the trousers yet the juxtaposition between the sleek, sharp lines of the jewellery and the circular florals of the trousers is pretty standout.

To complete the look, I popped on my black suede court shoes from Linzi to complete the look. The pointed toe adds to the formality of the rest of the look and the metallic hardware continues my contrast between modern and vintage. The finishing touch was these beautiful Swarovski earrings from The Jewel Hut – they perfectly exemplified my efforts to mix and match silver and gold. Oooh, risky!

So kittens, what do you think of my first autumnal outfit looks so far? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitterlike my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!

Love the outfit! Especially the trousers! I want something similar to that because I haven't given in the printed trouser trend yet but I am very tempted.
