Outfit of the Day: Geometric Skater Dress

Dress: Bravesoul – Headband: Vintage – Belt: Oasap – Heels: F&F
Hey kittens, how are y’all? The weather is still pretty good here in Manchester so I’m still seizing the opportunity to wear a dress whenever I can, with, wait for it, no tights on! Can you believe it?! Today’s Outfit of the Day is a celebration of those no tights days…
I’m feeling a little bit Amy Winehouse (RIP lovely lady) in this look – it’s a little bit 1960’s, my hair’s a little bit beehive-y and there’s a lot of leg going on. This lovely little geometric skater dress is an absolute bargain from Brave Soul – £18 for a dress which is going to take me through from Summer to Autumn (although we might need to add some tights by then) is a pretty good investment. The material on it is pretty unusual; it’s mostly polyester which makes it super comfortable and the skater shape is such a flattering fit on my body type. At least, I like to think so!
The geometric print of the dress is bang on trend, with the pop of blue behind the print giving this dress a little edge of the usual monochrome takes on this pattern. I love that it can be dressed up or down, and as y’all know, I like to add a little retro feel to my looks which suits this dress perfectly. I’ve popped on my tiger head belt from OASAP to cinch in my waist, although I’ve also worn the dress without a waist belt.
In terms of other accessories, I kept the rest of the look pretty simple to compensate for the overload of pattern, just added a vintage headband that I picked up from my local Oxfam charity shop. For shoes, I popped on my Louboutin dupes from… Wait for it… Tesco! I know, I know, I can’t get over these patent peep toe heels either, as they are almost exact dupes of the Christian Louboutin Altadama’s which reatail at £550. I love the edge the red sole gives to the monochrome outfit, which I paired with my signature bold red lips and red nails. Girls gotta have a bit of colour in her look!
