Outfit of the Day: Monochrome Aztec

Hey kittens! Happy Friday! It’s officially the start of a long weekend for me as I’m not in work today, so what better way to celebrate than to show y’all whatI’m wearing today. Oh, I’m good to you, aren’t I?
I feel like Monochrome Maddness has taken over me this summer (no, that’s not a classified medical condition but I’m gonna capitalise it anyway!). Despite being cautious of the trend in Autumn 2012, it’s hugely grown on me and now I find myself wearing black and white more and more. It’s just so easy to put outfits together when you’re only dealing with two colours!
This Zanya aztec print blazer from Pretty Little Thing is an unusual take on the monochrome trend as aztec and tribal prints traditionally come in warm, earthy tones. Although I would never wear a colourful aztec print as the look really isn’t for me, I do like this understated take on it. I mean, I say understated but it’s definitely a statement piece. Due to work, blazers are a staple in my wardrobe and I’m always on the hunt for my next quirky patterned one – this one has definitely found a loving home in my collection!

As the blazer is so out-there, I decided to continue the monochrome trend with this pleather detail T-Shirt from MissPap. Now, y’all know I’m not really one for Tees – I will always reach for a shirt and prefer the formal look – but I kinda like how smart/casual this outfit turned out. I think I might try pairing casual T-Shirts or vests with blazers more…

To accessorise, I popped on my new favourite Louboutin dupes from… Wait for it… Tesco! I know, I know, I can’t get over these patent peep toe heels either, as they are almost exact dupes of the Christian Louboutin Altadama’s which reatail at £550.  to add a little pop of red sole to tie in with my signature red lips and red hair flower. I also made the most of the good weather in Manchester (for once!) and donned my Prada Baroque sunglasses from Pretavoir  to shade my peepers from the sun. Finally, I chose my Just B Belle by Julien Belle handbag to complete the look – I love how the circle shape of the bag contrasts with the sharp aztec prints of the blazer.

So kittens, what d’ya think of this monochrome look? Do you prefer bright aztec prints? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitterlike my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!
