Outfit of the Day: Tropical Manchester

Hiya kittens! How are you finding this week so far? I’m super busy as ever but trying to squeeze in blog posts anywhere I can. This week I’ve already posted about my Benefit Wow Brows experience, Mary Katrantzou’s visit to Manchester and a pretty posh Outfit of the Day and Giveaway, where I’m giving you the chance to win a £250 designer handbag. Aw, I’m good to ya, aren’t I?
Anyway kitty cats, lets get on to this Outfit of the Day. Now, if y’all have been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that my hometown throws up a lot of obstacles when it comes to taking outfit photos or filming Look Book videos. Let me just direct your eyes to my old blog post, The Trouble With Manchester, and we can recap… But basically, the trouble with Manchester is the weather!

Now, from my pictures you might be forgiven for thinking that we are stuck in Winter. Yep, it’s June in two days and I’m still inseperible with my umbrella and wearing a coat. I mean, this look is a little bit out there for me – I’m wearing my fierce Daisy Street leather jacket instead of a faux fur coat. Shock horror! I know, it’s May and I’m still wearing faux fur coats, the sin of all fashion sins. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?

If ya’ll know me well, you’ll have already spotted another rare occurrence in this look. Not only am I not wearing heels, I’m not even wearing semi-smart dolly shoes or brogues. Nope, this is a first – I am almost wearing trainers! Keen followers of my outfits will have noticed my love of formality and picked up that I never ever wear sneaks, but for these gorgeous Sperry’s I make an exception. I absolutely love the boat shoe style of these Canvas Bahamas and think I can pass these off as the smartest possible way I’ll ever be wearing trainers. The quality of them is just fantastic – notice the outer seam stitching, thick sole and rope laces. J’adore!
Did you notice my tropical shirt? This Primark beauty is one of my current favourites, as worn to the STYLE etc Spring Issue Launch Party at Harvey Nichols. I know, wearing Primarni to Harvey Nics is a big risk but I think the chiffon and print of this shirt just makes it look so much more expensive than it was. In fact, I find it to be very Mary Katrantzou! I tied in the black of the coat, jeans and shoes with with my new favourite jewellery addition, this petitie curb chain necklace from MVintage Jewels. It is the absolutely perfect edgy yet understated accessory and I have literally worn it nearly every day since getting it (I’m wearing it as we speak!) – click here for more
Instead of using my classic black bucket bag (my all time favourite handbag that can be seen here) which I wore to the Risk Couture Store Opening. I decided to pick up the colour on the shirt by using my bold red La Moda Amina bag, that I also wore to the STYLE etc Spring Issue Party – gosh, do fashion bloggers really recycle outfits?! It’s the perfect size for lugging my junk around all day, plus more, with super handy long straps and shorter clutch straps for ease. Of course, the colour is a bonus as it goes with my signature red lips and red nails, as well as the stud detailing really adding extra edge to the outfit, as well as going with my countless studded garments – such as this jacket!
Over all, I’m trying to make the most of the Spring (nearly Summer?!) months to try and get spashes of the tropics into Manchester as much as I can. I thought this paradise graffiti wall outside my favourite Tikki bar in the Northern Quarter was a suitable ironic backdrop! Please note, it was raining whilst we took these photos so the quality of them is far from great, but as we all know, that’s the trouble with Manchester!

So kittens, have you been able to make the most of the Spring, or are you still stuck in your Winter gear too? Leave me a comment below and let me know! And don’t forget to follow me on Twitterlike my Facebook page and subscribe to my Youtube channel to keep up to date with all things fashion!

I really like how the bag and the shirt make the outfit more bright and happy. I decided in England it's better to dress according to the calendar because if you wait for the weather to realise it's summer it will never happen… ;)
