Review: Ralph Lauren with Pretavoir

Hey kittens!
Now, if you haven’t read my first review of Pretavoir, perhaps go take a peak here, where I rave about my Clubmaster Ray Bans* and the fantastic customer service I received from Pretavoir themselves. I was absolutely thrilled with my whole experience with Pretavoir and decided to stay in touch, due to the brilliant service they provided me with.
So, when I was looking for a new pair of prescription glasses in December, Pretavoir were the first company I turned to for help. Looking at their fantastic range of designer glasses, it was hard to pick my favourite pair. My previous pair of specs I had bought from Specsavers (appropriate) from the Gok Wan range – see them here, if you fancy a nosey – and these were my first ever pair of prescription glasses I got last year. I mean, the Gok Wan frames were fine for me – they did their job and they stood out enough for me to keep some uniqueness amongst my uni classmates – but I just got a bit bored of them, to tell the truth.
I now wanted a pair of glasses that were a bit more daring, a bit more “me”. I also thought it may be worth upgrading to a designer frame considering I now wear them every day at work and I want to look professional yet still stylish. Browsing through Pretavoir’s designer glasses it was hard to choose just one pair – they stock male and female specs by all high end designers, such as Chanel, Prada and of course, Ray Ban. It really was a tough decision and I already have my eye on a couple of other pairs I may purchase in the future!
However, after much deliberation I settled on a chic pair of Ralph Lauren leopard print specs in the model 6080* – with cat print fit for a kitten queen! I wanted some mottled, brownish coloured frames, oversized lenses with designer status. And that is what I got! The Ralph Lauren 6080 in Spotted Tortoise*.

My glasses parcel arrived packaged neatly and smartly in black tissue paper – practical yet stylish! I was also surprised at how quickly Pretavoir worked with my measurements and added my prescription lenses to the glasses, especially as each of my prescription lenses are slightly different to the other. Inside the tissue paper lay another professional yet friendly letter, with my Ralph Lauren glasses in their branded box and classes case, even with a Ralph Lauren glasses cleaner (oooh, fancy!).

In terms of wearing them, they are totally comfortable yet so fashionable. My lenses are Kodak Clean & Clear lenses and I immediately noticed the difference between these and my other glasses – these really are so much more clear, I’ve even had people ask whether there are really lenses in them or if they’re just fashion accessories!

I purposely chose some hugely oversized glasses as I always felt my Gok Wan glasses – seen here – weren’t a big enough statement for me. Not only are these the perfect size I was looking for, they’re also really comfortable because the lenses totally cover my eyes! The colour is also pretty bright without being too out there – Spotted Tortoise is a lot brighter coloured than JC Havana, which is the most popular frame colour after the standard black.

Over all, I am absolutely delighted with both the glasses and the service I’ve received yet again from Pretavoir. I’ve also had so many compliments on my Ralph Lauren 6080’s as well – bonus!

  1. Yes, your glasses truly are fabulous! Ralph Lauren truly provides great selection of sunglasses as well as prescription glasses. For UK customers, http://www.fashioneyewear.co.uk is a great online optical store that offers authentic designer eyewear.

    Hello,
Can I ask you whether you had chosen free lenses from Pretaviour, or the paid ones? I really like your spectacles, they look fab on you.

Hi Danka, thanks for the compliment! I actually just had the free ones, I didn’t pay to have any special features or upgrade them at all. Hope this helps.
