Stackable Makeup with Trinny London

Launched by famous fashionista and celebrity/TV stylist Trinny Woodall last year, with a fabulous launch event at Sunset in Manchester, Trinny London is the latest beauty brand on every blogger’s lips. Based on the concept of having a stackable collection of mini pots of makeup, Trinny London’s cosmetics pride themselves on creating makeup for on the go. I guess the concept is pretty similar to the idea of having a capsule wardrobe; minimalist and functional.

After attending the launch party, I was excited to try out some items for myself so I picked out a few items that were kindly gifted to me. As you can see, the packaging and presentation of the products is pretty luxurious. I guess you would expect nothing else from the queen of fashion, right? The majority of the products are designed in pots with screw bottoms so you can stack one on top of another, helping you to travel with your makeup collection. It’s a pretty unique idea and pretty cute!

One item that doesn’t stack, however, is Trinny London’s BFF Cream Skin Protector, which is SPF 30 and I have in the fairest shade, Lightest. At £35, this is a pretty normal price for a higher end tinted moisturiser and is an online exclusive, so not sold in any of the stores Trinny London frequents (such as Selfridges Manchester). Although the tube itself doesn’t stack, it does come with a little T-pot to decant a weekly dose to add to your stack, which I absolutely adore! The finish of this is pretty sheer but radiant and a good colour match for me. It can be worn with or without foundation on top, but I like to just pop some on and go for my every-day work makeup look.

If I am going for a higher coverage look, I will top up my complexion with Just a Touch in shade Bambi. This is a foundation-come-concealer that is included in a little T-Pot and is perfect for dabbing over problem areas for a more flawless look. I personally like to use this on my T-Zone for when I’m feeling a little self-conscious of my skin. I compliment it with Golden Glow cream bronzer in shade Jensta for a very subtle contour, and then tap on a little Trinny London Face Finish; a mattifying balm to prevent shine.

Out of all the products, however, my favourite is probably the Trinny London Lip Love Metallic Lip, which I have in shade Valentina. Y’all know that I am a fan of a red lip and this cream colour from Trinny London lives up to my usual standards. Made with pearlescent pigments, this red shade has a subtle 3D metallic effect which I find helps to make the lips look plumper, as well as giving a moisturising effect. At £24 I also can see this lasting a long time as a little goes a long way.

Sonny is a big fan, too!
